I've walked past long lines streaming outside this Thai establishment numerous times so, interest piqued, today I decided to check it out. Luckily, unlike most of the people after us, we arrived around 12 to no line and waited only a few minutes to be seated.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is upbeat and jovial. I found the service sensational: all the staff members were very friendly and prompt.
The menu features a number of Thai soups, curries, rice & noodles dishes with varying degrees of spice. The mains are generous proportions and easily shareable with the addition of a few side dishes. There's also an extensive drinks menu.
The wait time between ordering was practically non-existent. My daughter was served her kids meal only minutes after we ordered, which I loved. It's always a good sign when kids meals are prioritised as they generally eat slower and bore quickly (at least in my experience). I was served not long after.
We ordered Panang Beef Curry, Kids Satay Chicken with Egg Fried Rice, Thai Lime Tea and a non-alcoholic Mango Mojito. The flavours of the beef curry were superb with just touch of spice. It was loaded with green beans, capsicum, fresh red chillies and beef. My daughter is generally a fussy eater (we're working on it) but she wolfed down the chicken with the satay sauce and, though tentative at first, enjoyed the egg fried rice.
Overall I found the prices reasonable for the quality and portions of the meals.
I thoroughly enjoyed my meal at Kinn Thai and will definitely return. A great place for families, couples and anyone who loves good food at a good...
Read more5 star restaurant from (a restaurant) IN A FOOD COURT - this might be common but not for a small regional town girl like me.
In search of trying something “different” - I’d correct myself and say perhaps we meant somewhere that we haven’t tried before - we decided Thai was the go. SO good people were linin’ up for that shiii. We waited no more than 5 minutes and were greeted with menus before the table was even ready. Obviously it was by the time we sat down. The staff were lovely and very attentive and prompt. Food came out quickly. And MY GOLLY. We ordered the Chiang Mai Gyozas which neither of us could pass up after seeing it on the menu - the flavours and textures were on point ;D but really you should find out for yourself. We ordered two items off the lunch menu: the chicken Penang curry and the crispy bork belly and Chinese broccoli, both with rice. These were really good.
Looking forward to trying the betel leaves, papaya crab, pork ribs (!!!) and lamb cutlet curry, then everything else, in the future.
And I hope one upon one of my returns you will have started making...
Read moreWe waited in line for a table for around 30 mins and we knew already this place would be banging. The decor of the restaurant looks amazing👍. The service was great! My waitress gave me good recommendations on the food and drinks. We end up ordering a Crispy pork belly, Chicken green curry, Hotpot tom yum and a Plum soda for the drink. The pork belly was crispy and juicy the sauce paired really well with it. The Green curry was very fragrant from the herbs and aromatics in the curry and the chicken was moist in the dish. The Hotpot Tom Yum was delicious, It was perfectly balance on the hot and sour side and with a nice touch of salt and citrusy to back it up in the flavour. The plum soda did a great job at cleanse the palate from dish to dish and its quite refresh too. With the quality of service and the quality of the food, i think the price was reasonable. We were happy with our...
