Over priced food and quality just not there. I have ordered pizza here and it was extremely doughy and burnt on the top not very tasty at all and at $20 dollars a pizza I expect a lot more. Also ordered pasta a few times here hoping it would be better each time but it’s hard to get a good pasta when the pasta is pre cooked and re heated to be over cooked and soggy , also priced at $20 dollars quality just not there. At best I would compare it to a pizza shop takeaway pasta but just an overpriced one. At my table someone ordered the calamari which was also disappointing as for $22 dollars it a large bowl of lettuce to make it look a lot but as for the calamari there was 4.5 pieces. This was a main so we thought for the price they charge I would expect to get 6 to 8 pieces of calamari especially when the market price of calamari to buy is around $5 a kg. Service as a whole is ok when they take your order but soon as this is done they never return to the table again so several times we had to get up to order drinks etc. I feel they are very money oriented as the menu prices are very steep for cafe pub deep fried food. The main are priced around $35 to $40 odd dollars now if you do your homework locally there are several fine dining restaurants that are great and are same price or cheaper for home made proper food not frozen so I think that’s self explanatory. There is a great restaurant across the road called bakini it’s Italian fine dining and is wonderful and the same price with everything homemade so give it a try or just look into local places before trying roscos cafe as if you don’t you will be...
Read moreRosco's is an absolute go to for me and my workmates at The Alfred hospital if we want to give ourselves a delectable treat on our breaks or bid a colleague farewell on their last day with a memorable feast.
The menu options are diverse ranging from hearty pub meals, classic Italian standards, worldly pizza flavours and even Indian curries with well cooked naan bread. The menu changes often with more exciting meal options becoming available depending on the time of the week.
Dessert and coffee are just divine. Dessert pastry and cakes are displayed attractively behind a glass display. I often order the sticky date pudding which is made to perfection, with tasteful amount of date used to preserve texture and flavour. The accompanying ice cream is delectable matrimony.
Table service is top notch also. There is a kind tall German waiter that we love being served by because of his kind disposition, professional work ethic and warming smile. Food is delivered quickly and without hassle. I love how you can fax orders to book big group reservations also which the wait staff do an excellent job fulfilling.
Overall I highly recommend Rosco's for work lunches and functions. Many company teams go here for a...
Read moreWe dined in the first afternoon they were open for the year, and I have to say it was fantastic. It was our first day staying in Melbourne and despite calling earlier that day, had no issues placing a booking for six people. In fact that’s where the terrific experience started, the person taking my booking was so friendly on the phone. When we dined in the exceptional customer service continued. Our family kept receiving smiles from the staff, and our table was frequently attended to. We are all interested in the food though, right? That was amazing too! I tried the Barefoot Pizza, and the combination of flavours hit perfectly. Like a supreme, but more, with a little pop of chilli…. And you couldn’t have got the base any better!!! My wife complimented the arancini balls as well.
Getting here was so easy too, simply a 30 second stroll from the Commercial Rd. tram stop on St Kilda Rd, if the traffic lights are green for you!
All in all, I can’t think of a single negative experience last night. Thanks...
