đSaowanee Thai, Niddrie - 4.2 âď¸ out of 5.
Saowanee is where I want to go if I want comfort food. I have been coming here for years and years for solid Thai food and it is ALWAYS packed (even on a week night)
We had the: âPad kee mao noodles ($20) âPad Thai chicken ($21) âBeef pad see ew ($19) âVegetarian pad cashew nut ($20) âGreen curry with vegetables ($20) âRoti with peanut sauce ($6)
My absolute stand out favourite here that I have to order is the pad kee mao noodles (tops pad thai and pad see ew in my opinion). I loveee the flat noodles with the spice, capsicum, and Thai basil. The spiciness absolutely varies every time, but this keeps me on my toes!!
The pad see ew is also exceptional. Special shout out to the por Pia tod (spring rolls with beef mince) here as well.
Food comes out ridiculously quickly here and the staff are lovely. I also have an affection for the very green walls.

Both dishes were exquisitely prepared, delicious to eat and perfectly presented. Steamed rice was an excellent complement to both. It was a busy night, but the service was gracious and speedy. Very busy. Would strongly recommend you book in advance. The food was excellent. A lot of traditional flavours and options that showcased the region. Also a number of options to appease a more Western palate. A few things that they could have improved on such a more traditional drink options. Only had soft drinks, OJ, AJ and alcohol for cold drinks and Coffees/Tea/Hot Chocolate along with Green/Jasmine teas for hot drinks. That being said, the deserts are a must try. #2 is by far one...
