Pretty disappointing - had been recommended by a friend to go here. Good beer, but when our meals came out one of our friends had ordered the wagyu steak medium rare. It was tough and stringy, overdone (more like medium well) which is not like what wagyu steak should be. When he told one of the waitresses that the steak wasn’t medium rare, she wasn’t happy, grabbed the plate, took it out the back, promptly came back and announced haughtily that she had examined it in the light and there was some red in the middle meaning it was medium rare! My friend disagreed and she said she would have to get her manager, who was far more polite (hence 2 instead of 1 stars). The manager took the steak out the back and came back, apparently the head chef said he could cook another one but it would be the exact same. Our friend declined as he didn’t want it cooked the exact same (as it wasn’t medium rare!) and so the steak was taken off the bill.

Disappointed with the customer service, particularly from the first waitress. My friends had been to Heston Blumenthal’s restaurant two evenings before and had the wagyu steak medium rare there and it was beautifully cooked. Wagyu shouldn’t be tough and stringy.

We were also in a corner of the restaurant with blow flies buzzing around the table. The sausages were bland, mussels over cooked and deep fried Camembert was hardly melted in the middle. More like regular Camembert with a bread coating.

However the pork knuckle was brilliantly cooked. The rest of the food was average. Would we come back again? Maybe. But there are better...

I walked into this restaurant one cold Thursday night, and the place was quiet. I took up a booth next to the entrance, and the friendly waiter handed me the menu. I inquired about the Belgium beers, and he offered me a sample of four to try. They were interesting, but I settled on a wine. Whilst I was looking at the menu, he informed me it was burger night and for $20, which included chips and onion rings. I ordered the standard burger, which took about 10 minutes to arrive. It looked well presented and appetising, but the looks were deceiving. The bun was not the freshest, and overall, the burger lacked any real punch or flavour. The meat pattie was towards the least appetising beef paddies I have had, and because I wasn't enjoying it, I didn't finish it. The more serious issue was the chips, and they were horrid! They had no seasoning, looked anaemic, and tasted old and tired! I have had lots of chips in my time, and these were some of the worst. My overall impression of this meal was that little or care was taken in its preparation. The person in the kitchen who made this burger should be ashamed of themselves or seek employment elsewhere in a different field. The wine was okay, and the onion rings were acceptable. A different waiter took my meal away but didn't inquire as to how it was. A very...

Came here a few weeks ago to meet up with some friends for drinks prior to going to watch a sporting event at another venue. The gentleman on the door was nice & advised that they would require the table back just prior to 7pm. Not a problem. My friends were running behind so I was sat alone while ordering & enjoying my drinks that I had purchased. I felt like I was pressured constantly that the staff required the table back just prior to 7pm as I had 2 of the female staff members constantly coming over to the table telling me they needed the table back before 7. This seemed to coincide with me removing my jacket & having my tattoos on show. I have NEVER IN MY LIFE been made to feel less than worthy to be in ANY venue. I had had enough of the constant interruptions by the 2 female staff members that I left with nearly hour of my scheduled booking time left. The worst part was yet to come. As I was leaving I happened to walk passed one of the female members that had constantly reminded me that the table was required before 7pm, & she sarcastically stated "Oh are your friends not coming" I replied "No they are running behind & we have decided to meet elsewhere" THIS IS APPALLING. I have never been spoken to like this or made to feel worthless in a venue. I WILL NOT BE...

I absolutely adore this restaurant in Melbourne! 😍 It's become one of my all-time favorites, and I've had the pleasure of dining here multiple times. The food is simply outstanding, my favourites are their Spicy Mussel Pot and Pork Knuckle being absolute standouts. But don't let that limit your choices, because every dish I've tried here has been delicious! 😋 What truly sets this place apart is the exceptional service provided by the super friendly waitstaff. They go above and beyond to ensure that every customer has a fantastic dining experience. Even if you're not a big beer enthusiast, like me, you'll be pleasantly surprised by their unique beer taste and selection. Plus, the presentation with those special glasses adds an extra touch of charm to the whole experience! (I love the Rodenbach♥️) In my book, this restaurant is a must-visit when you're in Melbourne. Whether you're a local or a visitor, you won't be disappointed. It's a culinary gem that I wholeheartedly recommend! 🍽️🍻👌

Came to this venue after a nearby comedy show. A close friend was stopped as he came in by security presumably because of his limp as he had only had two drinks for the night. Security eventually let him through and we bought approximately $80 worth of drinks from the bar. Shortly thereafter security reversed his decision and ejected our friend from the venue. We politely asked if he had a reason for the ejection which he did not. At that point I approached management and asked if he could enquire with security as to the reason for ejection and/or if he could reconsider. Management could not provide us with a reason for ejection nor overrule security and I enquired if we could have a refund on our recently purchased drinks given the circumstances, management declined and then security suggested we 'skull' our drinks. I enquired if this was appropriate given his responsibility regarding responsible service of alcohol, he laughed. We left shortly thereafter, will not return.

I have been a big fan of the BBC ever since I lived in Dubai, so I was happy to find out that they have a branch here. I expected to find Kriek lambic, but sadly they didn't have it, so we opted for Leffe Blonde and Leffe Brune. We also ordered the following food: - Chefs Victorian Grazing Plate - beef bresaola, cacciatore, char-grilled spicy bratwurst, char-grilled mild weisswurst, maffra stockmans choice cheshire aged cheddar, house marinated mt zero olives, water crackers, and caper berries ($35). - Fries & Mayonnaise ($10) We loved the grazing plater but were disappointed with the fries, as there was nothing Belgian about them! They were supposed to be thick-cut, but all we got was the usual thin fries you get at regular places. Despite that, we keep coming back for the beer and are now a big fan of the Hoegaarden Wheat Beer, as it's generally on a discounted rate. It's an expensive beer place, but a great experience and friendly, helpful staff.
