Sophie’s Cafe Restaurant Chelsea — Restaurant in Melbourne

I must confess that I had my expectations lowered, perhaps unfairly, but mostly due to previous experiences I had a few years back at most coffee shops along the Nepean Highway, especially around Chelsea.

Boy, was I wrong!

I've had some of the best eggs Benny ever! Great portions, poached to perfection, awesome bacon and spinach proportion, and obviously, on top of a traditional muffin.

And that alone would be more than enough for the five stars... But, the rest of the experience just kept the bar that high!

Scrambled eggs on toast, beautifully cooked and again, great portions. The dog with plain cheese was awesome (didn't want my daughter to have a more loaded, as it would've been too much).

And that's it for food.

My large Chai (powder) was served in a beautiful extra large breakfast mug, with a cookie on the side. The iced chocolates were great with plenty of chocolate syrup!

The service was awesome! All the staff was extremely friendly, very helpful and as soon as the order was getting ready, it was immediately served at the table.

Yes! Finally! I found a cafe that actually has mustard! If you haven’t had a small smearing of mustard in your toasted ham, cheese & tomato sandwich then get on board. It is the best thing in the world and to share it with a coffee is just fantastic. This is the first time that I have been to this cafe and I found out today that they only opened a little more than a week ago. The staff are amazing: so polite, experienced and up for a friendly chat. The decor is homely and inviting. A well-made rounded bean coffee and an extremely large toasted sandwich, all for a very reasonable price. Sophie and crew are amazing. The food is made fresh so well worth the wait. Love the double egg bacon with relish. My partner loves the beef roll there. The lamb roll is delish, slow cooked for hours and made with love and passion for the craft. The coffee is consistent and on point each time and goes really well with the chocolate brownie, one of my favourites combo. My nephew's love the bacon here made crispy and the hot chocolate is perfect for the little ones. Something for everyone. Freshest food, cleanest shop and service with a smile...
