❗ Please be aware that NOT ALL SUSHI IS $4.20 ❗
Got lured into trying Sushi Jiro Highpoint as there was a sign stating that "All Sushi is $4.20" (It does say in a tiny font below excludes specific plates but you can't read it not unless you're up close). We got seated straight away as it wasn't too busy. We noticed that there was different coloured plates on the belt and on the iPad not ALL sushi was $4.20. We had to ask the staff how much each coloured plate was as there was nothing indicating the prices of the plates. Which we then found out not ALL sushi is $4.20.
I think it would have been better to say "Sushi starts FROM $4.20" as opposed to "All Sushi is $4.20". It would also be handy if they had a little sheet next to the iPad stating the prices of the different coloured plates.
We had a couple of plates before heading off to get lunch somewhere else. Even so the sushi was quite a disappointment, the portions seemed smaller and it feels as if things were made in a rush despite how not busy it was. The sushi was all double stacked and looking at the kitchen they had even more sushi plates stacked up, it really makes you wonder how freshly made the sushi is or how long has it been sitting/circling around the belt.
Overall wouldn't recommend coming here for the sushi train side, would grab lunch/dinner somewhere...
Read morePopped in a couple of weeks ago with my family. No staff around to direct us to a table (which when we have previously visited other Sushi Jiro locations there have been) We sat ourselves down at a table to which we had a staff member suddenly appear out of no where and state we weren’t allowed to sit at “that table” nor should the 2 of us sit there at such a large table. I explained several times I had family with disabilities catching up and would be here shortly as they could only get to the lower ground via the lift but we did in fact require a large table but no one was around to help seat us. We were still shuffled to a table at the complete opposite end which was poorly wiped down with a touch screen iPad to order, which was really unresponsive and laggy at times. When the rest of my family arrived, we asked for a highchair which we never received unfortunately. The sushi train itself was great as it had a large variety on show and it actually had a functioning sushi train to deliver meals that you ordered. When we left to pay, staff were quick to help us settle the bill but never really seemed to care/be helpful/just very rude vibes. This place has the potential to be great but the staff really need to pick up their...
Read moreFinally very nice sushi train in the West side of Melbourne. Fresh fish and seafood are very fresh. Sushi train had many variety of sushi, veggies, sashimi and desserts. The sushi taco is very unique and yummy. Lots of sashimi on top and rice veggies inside seaweed taco. Crunchy and soft texture in one taco. Very good texture. There are some food, like tofu skin only available on made to order menu, there are fish sushi only available in the sushi train. Suggest to have a look at the sushi train before order from menu. Price are average. I prefer $5.20 dishes. There are few pricing available. Remember to check menu for price prior order or take any dish from the train. The serving size is pretty good. Desserts only available in sushi train. Plenty of tables. Consider quite a lots of big tables in this small shop. Chairs are all sofa seats, very comfortable. Staff are a bit slow, but very friendly. There might be queue at busy hours. Few surcharge applied, weekend surcharge, credit card surcharge. Available to pay by liven too. Located next to cinema. Plenty of parking nearby. Bus...
