5 stars across the board. First, let me say i don't usually like cooking food at the table, so I'm no fan of hot pot, BUT this place made me think of the Vietnamese restaurant I went to in Vietnam that our tour guide took us to, and that place was NO 1 in my mind of hot pot restaurants. Unfortunately, they have been dethroned in my mind because this place is really the right one. I found this place on Google Maps after doing some walking around the area. I was met at the door by one of the servers he told me it was a hot pot restaurant and was I familiar with that type of dining. I said yes, but i don't usually care for hot pots. (I was hoping they included a menu option) I'm really not a fan of hot pot, but I'm hungry, so i will give it a shot. He said kindly you will like it." I said, 'I believe and trust you."" The deal; you pay in advance 90 min to eat, and you can eat all you want. I ate twice at the buffet, and I was stuffed. I think I was there for about 45 minutes if that.
The quality of the food and variety was fabulous crab shrimp fish beef, lots of beef. plenty of pork chicken and vegetables. You pick your hot pot. I chose spicy, but I told him i like lots of garlic and ginger he told me I could add it to flavor it. (Next time I go back, I will do just that; as soon as he brings the hot liquid to the table I'm dropping garlic and ginger into it) There is a refrigerated area with all cold foods; seafood vegetables etc. How i was taught a hot pot goes is you put in all your vegetables first cook them and and then your seafood. There was also the grill on the table upon which I cooked chicken and beef. This was one of the best meals I ate in melbourne. I almost hate to put up this review because I know people will find out how good they are. I hope they continue to prosper. The service was impeccable. I ordered a Sapporo using the qr code provided (they have a complete bar), and it was brought promptly. your meal includes water, and I believe some other beverage you can get on your own. The table was cleaned of empty plates and dishes. The restaurant is pretty big and there is seating in the back area also 5 stars and I hope to see them next time I come...
Read moreHonestly not sure what was so good about this restaurant. Been eyeing on it for a while and had seen crazy queues outside hence had to try once. Booked for dinner on a Friday night and it got filled pretty quick. It’s all you can eat bbq and hot pot. As you walk in, the server will sit you at the table and leave you with a quick hi and bye and help your self without proper explanation. Anyways, being our first time here we decided we would explore it ourselves. For the soup we got the spicy soup and the Tom yum one. I personally didn’t mind the spicy one but it was pretty bland and Tom yum just tasted average and sweet. Weird but yes that’s what it tasted like. The only thing that made it tasted better was the sukiyaki Thai chilli sauce which we added some spring onions, some garlic and minced chillies in it. Moving on to the bbq options? Well there were couple of meats options and marinated ones too but all didn’t taste the best and oysters blade did not look and tasted fresh at all. We had very less of bbq and went more with hotpot as there were more greens and noodles options which made it a bit eatable. They also had side dishes like noodles, Korean japchae I think it was and some other dishes like dumplings, prawn crackers, takoyaki, edamame, spring rolls ( very bad) and some weird looking chicken tender which were all very tasteless and very average. We kept our bbq and hotpot experience to minimal unlike usual.
Before finishing, the server came and started cleaning and he saw that people were walking in and decided to put all the plates in the hotpot and splashed the soup on my arm and in my dessert and no apologies for that either. FYI the only good thing about this experience I would say was their pancake and shaved ice cream bing su which was kind of cool to watch it being made. And also the variety of sauce they had, which was life saver for the night.
Over all, it was nothing special and we won’t be going back or recommend this place. Good for trying but man not...
Read moreMe and my partner have been here a few times now and I overall really like it. My favourite is the ox tongue, and of course the desert section, although sometimes the freshness of it is a little hit and miss , this goes for some of the other meats as well. But overall still yummy . They have a large sauce selection which I like a lot . Lots more sauces than some places I have been to. I will admit sometimes the staff can seem a little inattentive, but tonight they where great . We originally didn’t want the hotpot, because we aren’t huge hotpot eaters and didn’t want to waste food or be charged for it if we didn’t finish it as well, but the manager/supervisor came over and convinced us to try one of his favourite broths and assured us we wouldn’t be charged extra if we didn’t like it or eat it all. So We agreed , I didn’t really like it (would have preferred some spice , maybe because I am white he gave me the non spicy which is fair enough😂😂) just kidding😊he was nice and we thought his management/ supervisor skills were great . He was very attentive and even asked us what we think they can improve on . I also noticed him going above and beyond for other tables to please them , which I applaud. I suggested a wider range of fried sides , like Korean fried chicken 😋which I really hope they look into . I think a lot of people would like that . Overall , we like coming here . Is there stuff about the place that could be better? (Cleanliness, fresher meats) yes . But does it seem like they genuinely want to improve and take pride in getting feedback from customers to do so? Also yes . That’s what will keep us coming back to tenbbq. They truely do care about feedback and want to improve . Also I can’t say no to unlimited ice cream and bingsu . Overall , this place is worth trying . 😊(also their booking system has drastically improved which is...
