Went last night (Sat 15th May at around 7pm). I must firstly say this is a beautiful place to have a bar. My mother had a coffee, I had a mocktail and we shared the mini dessert platter. My mother said that the coffee was absolutely delicious for a hotel bar. Mocktail was great also! Dessert platter was okay, probably won’t order again but I think it caters to a specific taste for people who have a real sweet tooth (for example one of the macaroons was rosewater flavoured). I would like to make a comment about the staff. They are so friendly and great at their job but extremely overworked and are almost suffering for it. The worker named Jesse was running around like a chicken with his head chopped off. He was so friendly and trying to do everything for everyone. He was moving chairs and tables and taking orders and taking people to their seats all at the same time, that man deserves a raise. There was also a waitress who was being verbally abused by a rude and obnoxious customer who was sitting on a table near the entrance. I really hope she’s okay. That man was horrible and was spewing acid at her, threatening bad reviews on trip advisor and telling her she was bad at her job. That girl took that feedback like a champion with a smile on her face, apologising and saying she will do better next time (even though it wasn’t her fault at all and she was doing a great job and working very hard, I saw the whole thing). I wish I knew her name. You have great workers, but they need more support. Will definitely be back.

Overall rating: 4/5 This bar on the 35th level of Sofitel is stunning, with its toilets, and overall atmosphere just screaming luxury and serenity. Although a bit dark and awkward to sit, drink and eat, maybe I’m just not used to this high-class hotel experience. Drinks were fairly reasonably priced, with all tasting just right. The barrel aged rum was very smooth on the palette unlike other rum & whisky, which I quite liked. However, a bit too strong for my liking. Our top picks were the sweeter drinks - blueberry soufflé drink special being my fave, whilst the creme brûlée drink special ranked highest on the other end of the table. Aperol spritz and strawberry daiquiri were tasty with a hint of sweetness, and was the most refreshing to drink. Food wise, very delicious finger food to accompany our drinks. Not sure about the fish sauce for the calamari, would have preferred sweet chilli. The fried cheese balls were addicting, but wished there was more for the price you pay for. Would most definitely return to see our favourite bartender, Jessie for his quirky humour and fun performance! Food & drinks: 4 Value: 4 Service: 4.5 Ambience: 4

Beautiful location - everyone was looking up to see the spectacular interior. Acoustics have been carefully considered too — given the huge space you’d expect noise to echo and bounce, but the chatter and noise was well absorbed and it was easy to carry a conversation. The cocktail menu was very extensive and I found myself spoiled for choice — there’s something for every taste from citrus to florals/herbal to chocolate/cream to fruity/sweet. A decent selection of modest spirits, and naturally an extensive wine list. Snacks and meals are reasonably priced and generously portioned (I was expecting a canapé-sized snack when I ordered the lobster rolls and when it arrived I had to accept that it was now my dinner). Service is polite, professional, and efficient. Would definitely go again whether to enjoy a coffee and biscuit for morning tea, a few pre-dinner cocktails, or a decadent nightcap (caffeine lovers, rejoice; there’s a big selection of luxurious coffees and hot chocolates, with or without alcohol).

The sofitel has always been a special place as it is where my partner proposed to me and where we celebrated our engagement. We went to Atrium on 35 after a beautiful dinner at no. 35 and were absolutely shocked to have been served frozen dessert (we ordered the dessert platter). Initially we thought they couldn't be frozen given the calibre of the venue, and price, but the wait staff confirmed that the rock hard dessert we bit into was indeed chocolate eclair and raspberry mouse- frozen like ice cream! Furthermore, we both had an incredibly bad stomach all night. They just did not taste right. We did appreciate the efforts of the staff who were themselves shocked to learn we had been served up a plate of frozen desserts and tried to rectify the matter as best they could. Thank you. But we are so appalled by management who didn't seem too concerned about our shocking experience. Given the Atrium is part of the sofitel, we expected unparalleled customer service for a 5 star, prestigious venue. The experience has really disappointed beyond words. As a hospitality business owner myself, I would be jumping through hoops to strengthen customer relations after such an unpleasant experience. It's been an eye opener seeing a larger company try to brush off customer complaints without truly putting in effort for a...
