I'm normally not one to leave negative reviews as there's typically a pretty heavy bias towards that in online reviews anyway..

This warranted one though. The experience was disappointing given how many positive things I've heard in the past; It was my first and last visit sadly.

A "3 course meal" from a set menu actually consisted of: 1x Mini taco each 1x Single slither of beef of a skewer each(Granted very tasty, credit where credit's due) 1x Bowl (to share with 3-4 people) of calamari salad.

I genuinely thought the first two were appetisers and the salad was the first course.. The value for money was among the worst I've experienced.

The bar seating and tables provided were quite frankly inadequate for a maybe family with kids (which we conveyed in advance). There was only 2 highchairs for 4 children, and due to the height of the bar seats (extremely uncomfortable for a long sit down meal) and tables, it was near impossible to feed young kids while sitting on the stools. We personally had to go without and sit our son on my lap the entire meal, on the tiny tables that were seldom cleared. Personally I would have appreciated the booking staff seating us on the regular tables.. or just being upfront and saying they're booked out of child friendly tables.

I do understand they were busy, and probably trying their best.. But that doesn't excuse the experience, especially considering the cost let alone relative to the competition.

TLDR: Laughable portions, Terrible seating, Bad...

Excellent food! In my short span of 6 days in Melbourne, this ranks near the top of my list.

Chanced about this while googling for a good cafe enroute to Arthur's Seat. Was sceptical of the overwhelming positive reviews, but decided to try it anyways. I had my lunch here.

I ordered crab tacos, pork roll, beer battered fries and beef short rib. A detailed review of each item: Crab tacos- contained a healthy amount of avocado with a generous piece of fried crab meat atop a tortilla. Would recommend this to anyone intending to visit this cafe! It costs $7 apiece, but $5 on Tuesday nights.

Pork roll- was most disappointed by this dish. It tasted the most “average” alongside the other dishes. This is by no means saying that it is bad though. My one gripe: the advertised "american kimchi" tasted like pickles to me... I could just be unaware of the terminologies used around here:(

Beer battered fries- SO GOOD!! Please try this if you ever visit! There's nothing much to say except that this is a moment on my lip which I would gladly exchange for to be on my hip.

Beef short rib- the beef is stewed nicely to a high degree of tenderness. Would recommend as well.

My total bill came up to $54 (including a cup of latte, which was pretty good). It most certainly is not the cheapest meal around, but for what it's worth, I would definitely return here when I...

One of the Mornington Peninsula's favourites The Milbri never disappoints if your hankering a little Mexican or a great spot to catch up for brunch.

The cocktails are dangerously delicious with the John Farnham being a great favourite, Carne for dos (meat platter for two) is amazing value if you cannot decide and just want to try a little everything.

Friday's generally has $10 cocktails which really needs no explanation how good a deal that really is.

Stand out dishes for us was definitely the Gaucho steak which for our visits was the rump steak 🥩 although on the higher end on price was well worth it, as the chef's always nailed our medium rare and the roasted capsicum and chipotle mole was just delicious.

The Szechuan wings are always very tasty but a little spicy 🔥 in case you have someone who doesn't tolerate spice well they may not handle these well.

Great service from the staff always happy to chat and give pointers or share knowledge on the dishes.

Update Recently went back this time with a huge family group 10 adults / 13 kids and the team at Milbri handled and served us like champions! Big groups aren't easy and adding kids even more challenging but we arrived to a tables set one for kids, one for adults... Food and drinks flowed without a single hitch for the whole night just amazing....

This was hands down one of the worst dining experiences my family has ever had. We came here on vacation, excited to try the food after seeing decent reviews, only to be met with outright disrespect. The restaurant was completely empty when we walked in, yet instead of seating our family of six together, the staff deliberately split us up — four at one table, and one at another, on opposite sides of the restaurant. He had the entire place to choose from, but still went out of his way to separate us. It was humiliating. As an Asian family, the difference in treatment was impossible to ignore. When Caucasian customers arrived later, suddenly he was full of smiles, jokes, and friendliness. Meanwhile, we were treated like we didn’t exist. The double standard was disgusting — blatant favoritism for white customers and cold dismissal for us. The food itself was mediocre at best, and certainly not worth enduring this kind of racist behavior. Watching the owner pathetically try to act “cool” with other customers while making us feel unwelcome gave us nothing but secondhand embarrassment. If I could give zero stars, I would. This place doesn’t just serve food — it serves discrimination. Non-white families, save yourselves the humiliation and go anywhere else.
