Edit - over the last few months I have always been able to get my bread with only one exception, maybe I was just unlucky previously or lucky now, but thank you.

Also

Amazing sausage rolls, well worth the 10 dollars. Taste great and very filling.

Old review

I feel like this is more a critique of your business practices than your products or even your staff who seem lovely.

I truely love the olive sourdough, but it is so very frequently sold out by midday that I simply can't understand why you haven't changed the amount you bake. Especially when so many other breads are still available.

Perhaps my sample size it too small and I'm biased because of it, but a worse that 50% strike rate has spoilt the experience for me.

I enjoy the other bread too, but not enough to choose your bakery consistently.

In conclusion, love your work, not so much...

What has happened to the pies! We have honestly never tried a more terrible pie.

The chicken pie was so salty that an error must have been made with the quantity of salt, it was completely inedible.

A week later, I give them another chance and have a beef pie, which again, is the worst thing I’ve put into my mouth. Nobody ate theirs, it was sour, tart and really acidic with rock hard carrots and celery which seem to be added at the end and meat that tasted off? The whole thing was a disaster.

These used to be great pies. Like really good! Now they are plain terrible. Please take care when making your food as it’s very clear that on multiple occasions the mix was incorrectly made, poorly measured ingredients and a very expensive hit $$$ for sub standard quality.

The orange cake was also completely raw on the inside, a complete...

12/05/24 - Finally tried the famous Beef Pie. 🥧 Wasn’t as amazing as I thought (maybe expectations were too high after the Sausage Roll). Still it was pretty good!

The filling was rich with quality chunks of Beef and plenty of veggies (Celery and Carrots) cooked in red wine. The top was flaky and the base was soft and had absorbed the sauce. Felt it was lacking some seasoning though (pepper and salt). Would prefer the filling more spicy and more seasoned!

Would say it’s towards the expensive side. ($10)

4/5 🌟

06/04/24 - The sausage roll was something else! The best I’ve had in Melbourne.

I would say $9 is bit too expensive for a sausage roll, but considering the size (it was massive) and how good it was worth it. 5/5🌟

White sourdough was pretty...

I'm a big fan of Aussie meat pie and the pie here is really good: - Chunky pulled beef - Taste of wine and a good amount of veggies (carrots, onions, celery) - Clear distinction between top and base pastry - Fresh - straight out from the oven There are a lot more options to try out, and all of them looked nicely tailored I would say the price might be high for a meat pie - however, considering its location in the city, I would say it is worth it. Furthermore, it is situated along a small road with a very cosy atmosphere and great seat with a peaceful view - it is very ideal for a quick catchup with friends in the busy city

May-24: still amazing bacon and egg rolls, Palmier also excellent. Not as busy today compared to august-23 (visited on a Sunday both times) Aug-23: Wow, really beautiful bakery, and the service was excellent. The bacon and egg roll was definitely my favourite, everything about this worked and I wanted another. I also really enjoyed the ham, cheese and tomato croissant, it was surprisingly juicy and the texture was great. The almond croissant was above average, but I'm not sure if it was worth all the rage. The best item was the Palmier, I think it was the best I have ever had (better than any I have had in Europe).
