You have to try this new authentic Thai restaurant in Melbourne!
📍Vivid Cafe and Lounge Experience the true taste of Thailand here! The flavours and dishes will transport you to Thailand at first bite! It's a hidden gem outside the city, near Glenferrie station. The restaurant is so aesthetic, perfect for date night, and I'll definitely be back soon!
🥩 Crying Tiger The marinated beef steak is cooked to perfection - it's juicy and delicious, flavourful, with a kick of spice. It comes with salad and sticky rice, it's a whole meal on its own too!
🥗 Vivid Som Tham Perfect for sharing, this som tham comes with chicken satay, crispy pork belly, soft shell crab, Thai grilled chicken, and sticky rice. The pork belly is crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, with a delicious marinade. The soft shell crab is crispy, and doesn't feel oily.
🦐 Coconut Prawn Fresh, large and juicy prawns coated in batter with a hint of coconut, each prawn is served beautifully in its own glass with the sweet chilli sauce. The combination of the bouncy prawn texture and crispy deep fried batter, as well as the chilli sauce and coconut is perfect.
🍗 Chicken Satay Grilled to perfection with a smoky taste, and a sweet and creamy peanut sauce on the side. The chicken marinade has nice blend of herbs, I liked the faint aroma of lemongrass.
🍛 Massaman curry My FAVOURITE Thai curry, it's creamy and flavourful. It's made with fresh chilli paste, and the spice is neutralized with coconut milk, leaving a pleasant savoury taste with mild spice. The toasted cashews add a nice crunch. It comes with fluffy and fragrant coconut rice.
🥭 Mango sticky rice Iconic Thai dessert, I would eat it as a main meal. The mango is sweet and juicy, and the fragrant sticky rice comes wrapped in a banana leaf. I loved the light and creamy coconut ice cream.
🍹Mocktails and mojito Simple and refreshing, perfect...

The restaurant offers Thai cuisine, and they have quite many options, salads, soups, entrées, noodles, curries, fried rice... I started with a mango mojito mocktail, and enjoyed it Then came the meal I ordered, pineapple fried rice with seafood, and wow. My first wow was for the presentation, it was served in a (half) pineapple, well set, just beautiful. My second wow was for the taste, so good that I'll dare to say that it was my best pineapple fried rice ever, quite by far actually (and I've had quite many) Then as a dessert I had a small gluten free walnuts & pear cake. If like me you've never ordered gluten free desserts before (at least knowing it), no worries, it doesn't taste "weird" or whatever, actually I loved it And to go with it I had a Lotus Biscoff milkshake. Once again, amazing, just the right amount of sweetness, rich while still b feeling light For the delicious food, the beautiful decoration, and the super friendly staff, I highly...
Read moreMe and my husband were on a lookout for thai restaurants in Melbourne and we came across vivid cafe. We decided to try and on entering the warm atmosphere of the cafe captured us . We instantly felt welcomed by the hospitality of the restaurant. We ordered a couple of dishes and from my experience being a Thai, somtam and grilled chicken was even better than my own country!!! The vegetables were extremely fresh and the taste was extremely well balanced and delicious!!( i hate too much of sweet stuff) The grilled chicken is a hard bet in general but they got it right on! .Apart from that, the stir fry had the most amazing flavor and freshness of the prawns and seafood stood out. I ended up asking where they sourced their ingredients from . I must say it was a memorable and a very refreshing evening. The owners were so friendly and polite to us and their guests.I wholeheartedly recommend the cafe for anyone looking for thai restaurants in Melbourne. By far the most authentic and best THAI RESTAURANT i have...
