If I were not so understanding, I would have given this establishment a one-star review. My experience began with a simple greeting and check-in, where we informed the staff that we had a reservation. Despite calling ahead the day before to request seating upstairs and confirming that we would be bringing a toddler, we were told we were seated outside at a table on the corner of a busy street with only bar stools available. When we expressed concern about the seating arrangement, especially with a toddler, the staff member told us we could sit anywhere we liked. This indicated a lack of attention to our initial request.
The issues continued with the water. The jug of water provided had a distinct metallic taste, which we suspected came from the ice. After informing the server, we requested fresh water without ice. When the new glasses of water arrived, they still contained ice. Upon pointing this out, the staff member acknowledged the mistake by checking the receipt, yet he simply walked away without offering to correct it or provide new water without the ice.
Additionally, our meals were served incomplete. For example, we ordered steak with mashed potatoes, salad, and chips, but one of the meals arrived without the chips. After bringing this to the attention of the server, he acknowledged the error but did not offer to bring the missing item. When the chips still had not arrived by the time we were finishing our meals, the server apologised again and explained that there was only one chef working that day. While we understood the potential for delays, the lack of follow-through in addressing the issue was disappointing.
Ultimately, the service was inconsistent, and the overall experience felt unwelcoming and disorganised. Based on this visit, I cannot recommend this restaurant, and I will not...
Read moreOnce upon a time, The Sandbar "honey bar" was my happy place, a sanctuary of good times and live music magic. 🎶 However, it seems the harmony has taken an unexpected turn, and my eardrums now feel like they're on a rollercoaster of confusion.
The live music used to be the soul of this place, but now it's more like a battle of the bands where your eardrums surrender. 🤔 I miss the days when the tunes were as smooth as the drinks, not a sonic assault.
I'm left scratching my head, wondering why so many people flock to a venue with a cover charge that's higher than my aspirations. Perhaps they believe in the mystical powers of the beer cooler – the last bastion of icy refreshment in this sea of auditory chaos. ❄️🍻
In conclusion, The Sandbar might not be the oasis it once was, but if you're into ear-thrashing music, hefty cover charges, and cold beer, you might just find your dissonant...
Read moreI know now why no one was there on Thursday night, food, very average, my friends paid $43 for a steak, no salad and had to pay extra for sauce, are you serious? I paid $31 for mine and once again no salad, very small serve of beef medallions, which wasn't hot, on a bed of thin pumpkin mash, no salad. Service was really average, no smile, no welcome, nothing but blank from the girl behind the bar, like she really didn't want to be there. But... she was really nice to the boys out the front. When our meals were finished and plates removed absolutely nothing was said to us, what happened to hospitality? And my soft drink was just over 3/4 full, I had to ask her to top it up, what's with that? I won't be going back as I felt very ripped off...
