Read moreI have always liked this place for Bahn Mi but the recent two experience made me very disappointed. I came to Bahn Mi 233 to get dinner on Wednesday around 7:40pm but was told that they have closed while they labeled their closing time as 8pm on Google Map. Then I came back on Thursday, after made a call to the store to order two Bahn Mi with grilled pork, had to repeat my order when I arrived and waited for them to be made on spot. When they were finally ready, I asked which one of them was the one had special dietary requirements applied, the staff stunned and took the other two Bahn Mi from another bag to give to me instead and said the one with a cross is the one I asked. I took them with no doubt but realized the time I had waited in the store was actually unnecessary. The worst part is that when my partner and I opened the Bahn Mi and started eating, we found they were filled with lemongrass beef instead of the grilled pork I ordered, it does not help at all that Iâm not a fan of the taste of lemongrass. Above experience happened one day next to the other and it made me have doubt about coming back as a loyal customer. The service there has becoming confusing, disappointment and frustrating to me. I hope some changes can be made, all in all, I...
Read moreI've walked past this place so often curiously, wanting to try their food. I called in last night on my way home from work, for the first time to grab a takeaway.
Observations; The window bar was sticky & needed a wipe down. A couple of tables needed clearing & wiping down. It didn't look busy Just 1 cook. (a young girl) 1 guy serving. On entering, there were 2 tables occupied, 1 eating & 1 waiting, plus 1 waiting for a takeaway. An delivery courier collected an order while I waited.
I took a seat after placing my order & waited 30 mins for my food.
I ordered The Lemongrass Beef with steamed rice.
I opened it up 5 mins later when I got home, the meat was tasty, but far from hot, & the rice was yellow & sticky. I also didn't like the cardboard packaging. A sauce came with the meal, but on tasting it, realised it was chilli, so I had to eat it without, which was very dry.
On the plus side, there was a little bit of side salad with it.
So unfortunately I don't really have anything positive to write about this place. It was quite disappointing, regardless of it's popularity & good reviews.
In my opinion, they need 3 staff members operating instead of 2, & I think it would be far more authentic & enticing if the menu was...
