Bernie’s Bar is a highly-inclusive, LGBTQ+ friendly, environment, with an amazing atmosphere of warmth and fun. Some of my best nights of 2025 have started at Bernie’s. Their Long Island is delicious, beautifully garnished, and generous in size. I’d recommend anyone looking for a fun night out, to come here and spread positivity and joy.

Best new bar in town! Newcastle has needed a dedicated LGBTQIA+ bar and it’s so accepting here with a gorgeous crowd! The food is light and edgy and the cocktails are fun! The place is full of cool art and colour! A great place for an afternoon coffee or a night out.

Friendly greeting from staff, Ambience is colourful and unique accomodating all walks of life. Floors were sticky with every step. The 'use' of the space could have been planned out better to accommodate its multiple functions unfortunately it leaves you feeling cramped and ontop of each other and other patrons, the array of games, activities and entertainment very dynamic. Coffee was average, order was done incorrectly and lacked actual taste of coffee. It was disappointing that they didn't have a lactose free milk option, the oat milk tastes like you are drinking warm cereal. The food while it looked good and presented well, the quality and taste was poor, felt like most dishes were cooked in a microwave, the fried foods were either oily or burnt, food lacked, seasoning, flavour or was dry with a lack of sauce to compensate, the overcooked meat was blanched of any taste. The corn chips were stale and very broken, the guacamole, lacked lime juice and seasoning and the avocados were brown adding a bitter flavour through out. The ingredients tasted like pre-packaged food from the local coles, that had been sitting on the shelf too long. The 'steamed' bun of the pork bao, was not cooked, rubbery and hard to eat, too much bread with the bruchetta, drowned out any flavour with the tomato onion mix. Was an interesting choice to use a sweetbread with the mini hotdogs, not to my taste but edible. Only thing that was stella was the humble fairybread, simple ingredients done well. While the vision is there, for a safe place for the community, there are so many better food options out there. The kitchen needs to drastically re-think of sub-standard food they are presenting if they wish to survive as...

Super cute destination venue with a vibing friendly and family like community, come to Newcastle and check it out! It is definitely worth the trip.

I am a not drinker but I was able to buy a coffee and later a classy non alcoholic soda was available. I loved how effort has been made to include not drinkers as well. I will definitely be back!

It was great to be included and not experience the usual pressure to drink something alcoholic.

I loved how the space doesn't smell like alcohol, cigarettes or vapes.

It's fresh clean and down to earth located in the heart of Muloobinba/ Newcastle.

Super parkling 80's...

The most welcoming and inclusive space, my friends and I have only had good experiences and fun times here. The Bernie's team go above and beyond, theres always something on for everyone from week to week. The team all live and breathe the values, are encouraged to bring their true selves to work and do a great job at making their patrons feel welcome and without judgement. I can't praise these guys highly enough for providing the safe space that they do. I hope they have a long and successful business in Newy!

The only thing I could really say is that the menu could be more food intolerant friendly, it was in the beginning, but I understand there was a need to simplify the menu, which is fair enough, its got to be viable and manageable. Literally the only small thing about the place, otherwise love it...
