Betty's Burgers is a solid four-star experience with some highs and a few quirks that stood out. First off, the fries were excellent—crispy, golden, and just what you'd want with a burger. They definitely didn’t disappoint. The spicy chicken burger, though, was a bit of a letdown in terms of spice. It wasn’t spicy at all, but the chicken was incredibly succulent and well-cooked. The real twist was the bacon—ice cold. While this might sound off, it actually worked as an interesting contrast with the hot chicken (hot in temperature, not spice—just to clarify). It’s a unique combo that might not be for everyone, but I enjoyed the interplay.
Now, the thick shake—well, I wouldn’t really call it a thick shake. It was more of a regular shake, which you can see in the video I’ve uploaded with this review. A little on the thinner side than expected, but still tasty. Just not what you’d expect when ordering a thick shake.
One thing Betty’s Burgers definitely has going for it is the vibe. The plastic plants everywhere added to the relaxed, fun atmosphere, giving the place a playful touch. I also noticed some dust on the ceiling fan, but it wasn’t something that bothered me much—just something you notice when you’re really looking around.
The staff was mostly young, which I think is a great thing for a few reasons. Young people tend to bring energy, enthusiasm, and a fresh approach to work, which really comes across in the service. However, I did notice there wasn’t any visible adult supervision in the kitchen or among the waiting staff. It’s not a dealbreaker, but a bit more guidance could go a long way. That being said, the young guy who seated us was incredibly friendly and polite. Bless his cotton socks!
While I was enjoying the meal, I couldn’t help but think about The Velvet Fedora, a bar I’ve been dreaming about opening. Picture it: a sleek, cool spot where you can sip on martinis and mojitos, play fun games like Spin the Bottle, and enjoy a laid-back but sophisticated vibe. Just like Betty’s Burgers, it’ll be a place with personality—except with more adult supervision behind the bar!
Overall, Betty’s Burgers is a great spot for a casual meal. It has its quirks, but it’s got a lot of charm,...
Read moreThe customer service was appalling. The server who took my order was nice however. But when I picked my food up from the counter, I looked at the tattooed girl who placed it there and said thank you. She made no eye fondant and just grunted at me. Then when I left, I deliberately walked up to the red headed girl and said thank you. She pretended I didn't exist. She looked over my shoulder and yelled something at another staff member and completely ignored me. Even though the food was OK, this left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I ate at the original Betty's burgers in Noosa in 1990 and I knownshe would be appalled by this. I also work in a similar industry and know that all it takes is a little effort to make a nice experience for customers. There seemed to be an attitude of entitlement amongst these few staff members. I will be avoiding Betty's burgers in the future and suggesting others do the same. Time of visit 5pm, Tues...
