A Spectacular Dining Experience at Charlie’s of Darwin
Saturday Night folks - From the moment I stepped into Charlie’s of Darwin tonight, I knew I was in for something special. This place never fails to impress, and tonight’s dinner was nothing short of spectacular.
To start, the Duck Bao Buns—absolute perfection! The soft, pillowy buns paired beautifully with the tender, flavorful duck, and the balance of hoisin and kewpie was spot on. A ridiculously good way to kick off the meal.
Next, the Lamb Ribs—melt-in-the-mouth tender, coated in a beautifully spiced BBQ sauce that elevated every bite. The flavours were rich yet perfectly balanced, making it one of the standout dishes of the night.
And finally, the Mille-Feuille (1000 leaves)—what a masterpiece! Flaky, delicate pastry layers, smooth and luscious cream, and just the right touch of sweetness. A simply stunning way to end an incredible meal.
Whether you're dining solo or with a large group, Charlie’s of Darwin is the place to be. The food is innovative and packed with flavour, the ambience is effortlessly cool, and the service is consistently outstanding.
A huge shout-out to Rebecca and Team Charlie’s—you are absolutely brilliant! Thank you for yet another unforgettable dining experience. Can’t wait to be...
Read moreExtremely Disappointed and Deeply Concerned About Safety
I had a really disturbing experience at Charlie’s of Darwin that left me questioning the venue’s approach to patron safety. While using the unisex toilet, I witnessed a man urinating in the sink. Shocked, I immediately informed the security guard, expecting a professional and serious response.
Instead, I was brushed off with: “I wasn’t in there, so what do you want me to do?” This kind of dismissive attitude is not only unprofessional — it’s dangerous.
My concern goes beyond just the disgusting act I witnessed. What if something far more serious happened in that bathroom — like harassment or assault? If someone reported it, would they get the same careless response?
Venues that allow unisex bathrooms must ensure proper monitoring and have security staff who are trained to handle situations respectfully and urgently. Based on my experience, Charlie’s of Darwin is failing in that regard.
I won’t be returning, and I’d strongly caution others — especially women — to be careful here. Basic hygiene and safety should not be too...
Read moreHave been to Charlie's multiple times and have always been taken back by the cocktails, snack food and the service.
Tonight doing the "feed me" menu, I was genuinely left wanting more. We paired out meals with the matching beverage options 5 meals/4 drinks. We ended up starting with an additional cocktail to get us going and it did! (Bloody Laksa Mary - would recommend), then also ordering an additin cocktail to accompany our mains as the accompanying drink was long gone before it arrived.
Arriving at 7pm and its currently being 9:05pm 2 hours later still not have gotten to our final meal (dessert). Whilst the food is absolutely fantastic I feel the portions were to small for the wait periods between. We actually began having conversations on when and where is our next drink/dish rather than actually enjoying the experience.
I am always willing to come back as mentioned the cocktails and the service are always on point. Just this experience could have been a lot less lack luster. Shout out to the wait staff whom were...
