I went on my own to make new friends.
After making the journey there, and getting lost, I finally found the cafe and almost didnât go in.
I get nervous when meeting new people.
I fear people wonât like me and I worry that theyâll think Iâm stupid. I fear rejection... donât we all?
So as I walked past the entry, I said to myself; âJust go in and say to the staff that Iâm here to play games and theyâll look after me.â
And they did.
I just focussed on that one first move; entering the shop, and talking to one person.
The rest was easy! After I introduced myself, the guy behind the counter said âGreat! We need a fourth person to play âHardhittersââ and then he introduced me to a small group of people and we sat down to play.
I enjoyed myself and made some new friends.
The cafe also took me back in time to my childhood. It was quite a nostalgic evening!
It only took me 2+ hours to get my head around the game and Iâll definitely go back for more play.
This is my favourite way to meet like-minded people: sharing an activity / experience...

The place could, in fact, be considered very much kids oriented, as long as said kids are accompanied by 80-90s culture nostalgic parents. Food is also unexpectedly good, although there aren't many choices on the menu. My understanding is that some local clubs made of this cafe a sort of unofficial venue for their reunion, so it is not recommended to people that...
