Nestled in the heart of the city, Mellow Thai Restaurant and Cafe offers a culinary escape to the vibrant flavors of Thailand. The Red Curry Chicken is a symphony of taste, with tender chicken pieces simmered in a rich, aromatic curry that’s both spicy and sweet, complemented by the creaminess of coconut milk. The Som Tum Salad is a refreshing contrast, with crisp green papaya, a tangy burst of lime, and a hint of heat that dances on the palate. It’s a dish that’s both invigorating and satisfying, perfect for whetting one’s appetite. The Tom Kha Gai Soup is a revelation, a comforting concoction that envelops the senses with its silky coconut base and the galangal’s subtle warmth. Each spoonful is a loving embrace, with the chicken’s tenderness and the mushrooms’ earthiness creating a harmonious balance. Service at Mellow Thai is as delightful as their dishes. The staff, ensures that every dining experience is seamless and memorable. And to elevate the meal, the crisp, fruity notes of Jacob’s Creek Sauvignon Blanc provide a perfect pairing, its refreshing acidity cutting through the richness of the dishes with grace. In summary, Mellow Thai Restaurant and Cafe is a standout establishment where the food and service are nothing short of outstanding. It’s a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic Thai dining experience. Note: No pictures to share coz too late to remember.

Very dissapointed! We will NEVER come back! Foods are really pricey! We ordered fish, staff asked if we were okay with the bigger fish and more price while we can see the fish was ready ( we dont have any choice cause ITS ALREADY BEEN COOKED). fish was overcooked, it was definitely frozen, because it came out rubbery and really dry and smell fishy, asked for thai style and more spicy, came out just sour and sweet. We ordered tom yum soup as well, came out warm and just too sour. The only great thing was the rice. Lack of service, staff never asked how was our meal, asked for fresh chilli, given the frozen one. I dont know if they changed the chef, it used to be good. They need to have consistency! We pay for that much and got dissapointed. NEVER COME BACK!

Mellow Thai soon had diners after opening at 5:30pm on a Sunday and also had a steady stream of pick up deliveries. The staff were polite, friendly and attentive, promptly receiving the menu and water. I ordered the Pad Thai Combination with a sweet, rich sauce and plenty of chicken, beef and seafood. The seafood consisted of a prawn, one scallop, crab sticks and pieces of squid. The dish was a decent serving and tasted nice although the beef was slightly tough, but the dish maybe difficult to cook due to all the different protein.

I have been a Darwin resident for 30 years and won't use Mellow Thai restaurant and Cafe again. I don't consider myself a whinger and am very accepting of most things but I received terrible customer service. I made a takeaway order by phone and when I went to pick it up the order I had made was not correct. I was challenged be the young girl behind the counter saying I had made an error. When I simply stated that that wasn't what I had ordered she got very defensive, accusing me of getting it wrong and after a 5 minute stand-off I walked out. There was no offer of a menu for confirmation she was on the attack from the get-go. As I said I'm not a whinger but I really wasn't impressed from the...
