Zhen's Kitchen — Restaurant in Northern Territory

For good take away zhen's has been a nice quick option.

I have been eating here for the last 12 months with the same order 95% of the time.

Tonight they had a new front counter person. So when ordering my usual he kept asking me for my order again.

After 4 attempts of ordering my usual. I told him that i no longer required an order and left the store.

He then proceeded to follow me into the street to yell at me at how ordering worked.

This stop normally has great customer service with good fast take away.

Unfortuately when the new server can't take a normal order and then runs out into the street to yell about how to order. That's unacceptable and gets a 1 star. Hopefully this rating can be changed once this new server is trained in acceptable ways to talk to customers and how to take orders at...

Thought Friday dinner would be worth trying out a new restaurant but It seemed like the food was made in a rush. Both cheesy garlic and garlic naan was below par - description is beyond misleading. No melting cheese in the naan, just rock hard doughy bread with sweet garlic on top. I don’t remember authentic naan tasting sweet or having a doughy texture? I’ve had amazing naans in Darwin, just not this place. Veggie pakora was a lump of veggies battered and fried - flavourless and zero crisp to it. Butter chicken was the only saving grace but honestly, there are way better butter chicken dish in Darwin. Absolutely disappointing. Ended up throwing the food....

We were visiting Darwin and really started missing Asian food — so we were very happy to find Zhen’s Kitchen. The food was consistently tasty and comforting, and we ended up eating there several times during our trip.

One of the highlights was when Jason’s dad, the chef, made a special order of Hor Fun (rice noodles with gravy) for me — it was absolutely delicious and really hit the spot. You can tell they care about the food and the people they serve.

Big thanks to Jason and his family for being so kind and welcoming. Their thoughtful service really made a difference and added something special to our visit. Definitely a place we’ll...
