This place has been very popular/recommended for a long time but I hadn't tried it out until this evening. Glad I visited!
There's a fairly large menu but fried chicken is the must order item here and it's nice how much variety you can choose from ie bone in, boneless and wing only options as well as half serve and whole serves. I'm also surprised to note they offer halal chicken and a limited alcohol selection too.
Service is prompt and polite. It wasn't immediately clear if the restaurant was table service or not but you will be seated, provided plates, forks and water. Review the menu first, then go up to order and pay. Food came out quickly and we were offered plastic gloves too! Chopsticks were also available. For 2 people, we ordered 2 half serves of chicken (Snow Honey Butter and Garlic), 1 kimchi pancake and 2 large beers came to about ~$85 which I feel was reasonable considering how we both left full and still had some food leftover!
Things to note: You will be charged for takeaway containers. Other reviews/signage in the restaurant does say this, so I'm not bothered in the slightest but keep that in mind. The price was 50cents for a paper box and $1 for plastic container. I normally prefer bone-in chicken but the boneless chicken here is so generous in portion I recommend ordering boneless! The kimchi pancake is slightly crispy and slightly soggy. Goes well with the vinegary sauce but a bit bland on its own. I wasn't a fan of the capsicum in the pancake but it was something different. Another review said the chicken here was similar to Nene. Personally I'd disagree with this claim as the Snow Honey Butter chicken comes lightly tossed in a thick sauce with a creamy/cheesy flavour and not a dry cheese powder. It's different, but delicious! Reminds me of Carbonara haha I wanted some pasta to go with the chicken lmao The Garlic Chicken had a double chilli symbol on the menu which I believe would suggest it would be quite spicy. Personally, we did not find this to be the case as there was no chilli whatsoever (not complaining, simply advising). Perhaps people of a certain persuasion could find the pungent flavour of spring onion and dollops of minced garlic as 'spicy' or overwhelming, but we did not have any issue with the spice level of this. I'd recommend coming early to skip the crowd. Arrived around 5.30 with plenty of tables available but left at around 7pm and it was starting to get busy! Not a problem but something to note Outdoor seating can get a bit cold with the wind but staff came out (unprompted) and lowered screens which limited the wind. There was also plenty of indoor seating.
Would definitely consider returning to try other items...

My wife and I were back on our sacred weekend ritual: fried chicken and beer. And of course, when it comes to crispy, golden goodness, who else to visit but our favourite fried chicken expert, 7 Grams! We have been loyal fans since their first store in North Perth, and kudos to the owner for expanding the franchise to East Vic Park.
Our go-to order? The boneless original fried chicken with a side of spicy hot sauce, the perfect combo to set my tastebuds on fire (in a good way). Over the years, I’ve been so loyal that I’ve collected more chicken stamps than a post office, enough to cash in on rewards ranging from free fries to a whole chicken. Usually, claiming rewards has been smooth and simple… until today.
When I told the manager I would like to redeem my half-chicken reward, I was hit with an unexpected plot twist: apparently, I should have called ahead to announce my intentions, like some sort of poultry premonition. If I didn’t, I’d need to pay full price despite my hard-earned stamps. That’s news to me, I have always been able to claim rewards on the spot, no crystal ball required.
To make things more awkward, the manager then staged a mini “CSI: Fried Chicken” investigation to track down the poor staff member who took my order, pulled her out of the kitchen, and told her off right in front of me. Honestly, it was more uncomfortable than biting into a piece of overcooked breast meat.
The logic here seems a little scrambled: it’s like going to your barista, reward card in hand, only to be told, “Sorry, you should’ve called ahead to let us know you wanted your free coffee. Pay full price.” Unless pre-warning them changes the chicken’s DNA, I really don’t see why this rule exists. Are they tossing in fewer chicken pieces when it’s free?
In the end, the chicken was still finger-lickin’ fantastic, but the service left a bad aftertaste. As a loyal customer with enough stamps to wallpaper my living room, I don’t think I should feel like I’m the problem just because I wanted to redeem a reward.
7 Grams, I will keep coming back for the chicken, but I hope management can work on serving respect with the same generosity as...
Read moreI just wanted to start this review that the food here and the service has been most part a very pleasant experience. There’s a reason why we keep coming back here, and the food here is top notch.
But today’s encounter was a very unpleasant one. The food is still of good quality and what we come to expect. Most of the people taking our orders were also a pleasure to talk to. But this particular male staff member with the blonde hair was literally the worst server we’ve had.
We ordered an extra takeaway order after our meal. Since it was busy, one of the other servers told us politely if we can wait outside because it was busy, which we agreed to.
But once we were exiting out, the blonde server literally blocked me from getting out of my seat while he was cleaning the tables (also to note that he wasn’t really properly wiping it clean, rather wiping it for the sake that it looks like it’s been cleaned).
That encounter I brushed off. But what surprised me was when our friend was following up on the order at the counter, this blonde server literally SHOVED my friend. Without apologies, without any care. He didn’t even apologise. It was rude. I’ve been working in hospitality for over five years, and I think shoving someone isn’t really a cool way of dealing with customers.
We didn’t complain at all. We followed and always politely interacted with the staff. We never gave an indication to be rude to the staff. We enjoyed our meals and we were grateful to all of them. But that blonde man was not on the same par as the other servers.
I’d still give it two stars because most of our experiences (and previous ones) have been good. But reviewing today’s meal just had that bitter and sour aftertaste to it because of that male...
