Absolutely phenomenal experience at Peasant Paradise! The diverse South African cuisine was a true revelation. A huge shoutout to Dwight, the one-man army in the kitchen, who was not only an incredible chef but also an exceptional server with a beautiful smile throughout the meal. The way he presented each dish with lovely descriptions added a personal touch that made the experience even more special.

We were a group of 14 members and were accommodated with ease, which was impressive. We were served with an incredible spread and Standout dishes included the Injera Flat Bread with Eggplant Lemon Dip, Doro Wat Dip, Polenta Fries Shakalaka & Mint Yoghurt, Peasants Dhal, and Cabbage Curry Biriyani, Muriwo and Paratha Roti. We also enjoyed Sweet and Sour Cauliflower Derere, Curry Leaves with Fried Shallots, and Okra Curry Char Grilled Yuzu infused Cabbage, Spiced Pickled Cabbage Maharangwe, Suya Spice, and Toasted Coconut Flakes. For meat-eaters, the South African Durban Style Goat Curry Biriyani, Muriwo and Paratha Roti, and Mummas Chicken, Coconut and Blackbean Curry with Biriyani, Muriwo and Paratha Roti were absolute highlights.

Every dish was delicious and unique, showcasing the rich flavours of modern South African cuisine. The variety of options was impressive, with plenty of choices for vegetarians, vegans, and gluten-free diners.

If you're looking for an authentic + modern South African cuisine with exceptional service, Peasant Paradise is a must-visit. Can't wait to come back and try more of their...

Peasants Paradice is a very interesting spot in Perth’s dining scene, run by Dwight, an enthusiastic young chef with an inspiring vision and a genuine sense of community. From the moment you step inside, it’s clear that this is more than just a restaurant—it’s a labor of love where the team pours their heart into creating a fun, welcoming environment that feels like a celebration of good food and good company.

The menu is wonderfully diverse, offering international flavors that reflect a fearless approach to cuisine. It’s hard to pin down a central theme—dishes might draw inspiration from Asia, Europe, or even the Middle East—but somehow, it all comes together seamlessly. Each plate feels carefully considered, with bold flavors and creative pairings that make for a truly unique dining experience. Whether you’re an adventurous eater or someone who loves exploring new culinary territory, you’ll find plenty to rave about.

What really sets Peasants Paradice apart is the energy and passion of the team. Dwight and his crew work tirelessly to bring something fresh and exciting to the table, and their enthusiasm is infectious. The vibe is lively, the service is friendly, and you get the sense that everyone involved is genuinely proud of what they’re offering.

Incredible. We were blown away to discover that this amazing restaurant is run entirely by a one-man powerhouse—Dwight. From the food to the atmosphere to the impeccable service, every element is delivered by him alone. It’s truly an experience! Not a single detail felt lacking. In fact, knowing that Dwight was effortlessly juggling it all made the whole evening even more impressive. We’re so glad we searched “Perth’s Best Indian Restaurant” and found Peasants Paradice at the top of the list! While we expected Indian food, we were delighted to find it was actually African cuisine—our first time trying it, but definitely not our last! 4 dishes between 3 of us was more than enough. Next time, we will have one curry and two or three sides. Photo 1: Polenta Fries / Pickled Marinated Whitlof (MUST HAVE!) Photo 2: Senegalese Topside Beef & Okra Curry / Mummas Chicken, Coconut, & Blackbean Curry Photo 3: Kulfi / Milktart Photo 4: Menu
