We came here twice during our trip to PD. We wanted to grill some fish at our rental and after Google-ing came upon this place. As a Japanese visiting from the US I was excited to find out the owners and staff were Japanese! We went back again on our last night and ate outside. I was elated to try their nanbanzuke (citrusy app of deep fried smelts marinated in vinegar and soy) in the refrigerated section. We also ordered couple other items such as oysters, sashimi and the most memorable was the Spanish mackerel tempura - take on fish and chips. Brilliant idea and wish others would use mackerel instead of the ubiquitous cod! The only thing lacking was the sake selection. None of them were dry and the owners also didn't have much knowledge of the selection which is understandable since maybe sake is still underrated in parts of Australia. Food was on the pricy side but I didn't mind since I got my Japanese fix and everything was...

Lovely, delicious tiger prawns. Very fresh. Amazing oysters that tasted of the sea and tasty, tasty bugs. Everything is super fresh and reasonably priced and don’t worry if you forgot condiments. The fridge is full of every type of sauce you could ever wish for as an accompaniment!! Even lemon, limes and Tabasco 👍. When we were there yesterday they had two humongous mud crabs swimming around in the ‘live’ tank. Some of the first muddies I’ve seen for the season. Lisa, the owner served us and she was great. Friendly, knowledgeable and a lovely lady. A great locally run business. I am the daughter of a trawler man and can spot good seafood. This gets my big...

This was the best meal I had during my month-long stay in Port Douglas. The food is perfectly seasoned and cooked by a chef who used to be a Japanese chef in Japan. The portions are generous and I highly recommend eating here. The staff is friendly and will tell you anything you need to know about the city and the food. I had the best hamburger and fish and chips I have ever had in my life‼︎ If you want a really good meal, this is the place to go! 最高でした!美味しい料理をありがとうございます。

The best fish and chips in Port Douglas is the tempura. As expected from a Japanese sushi chef, the fish is fresh and delicious, and the tempura batter is crispy and combined with the white fish makes it very juicy. It's a unique and elaborate dish. I'd like to eat it again! While I was eating, there were many customers coming and going for takeaway or pre-orders. I really recommend this restaurant.
