Chubby Guy Pies/ Port Town Bakehouse — Restaurant in Port Macquarie

We had the steak pies ( plain). Good looking pies, nice and hot, pastry held its own which was good, full of mixture also good but the after taste is awful. Repeated dreadfully. I’m assuming it was onion flakes and not real onion. I could be wrong but even whilst eating it I could taste something not to our liking. My husband was the same. Did not like that aftertaste at all. Bakery was not a true bakery in regards to selection of cakes. Fresh cream in lamingtons and apple turnovers was older than me… Only custard tarts looked fresh but poor cake display otherwise. Sorry but they...

The pies are absolutely top notch. I had the mushroom and the cheese+bacon. Chunky fillings, rich gravy, great quality and value. Highly recommend.

The woman who served me seemed upset by my presence. I dont usually notice that stuff.. we never know what people are going through, and I'm there for a pie, not to make friends. I have been eating Viet Pork Rolls for 30 years. The pork roll from this bakery is the best I've ever eaten. The pork is fresh cut from a roasted slab. It had the perfect balance of salad and coriander. Also a light but delicious drizzle of a light soya sauce over the top. I always want to give a review but never find the time. This roll was so nice I had to do it. I normally keep a good thing to myself but I can't allow this roll to go extinct so let the word out and I'll happily join the back of a long queue...
