I wish I could give this place a single star.
I attended the shop located in Queanbeyan on the 29/8/2018 at approximately 8:30pm. The manager, Roma, was the first to greet us. He gave our daughter a balloon without any hesitation, which obviously made her happy. Roma was happy to take our order, and the food didn't take long to come either.
What happened after the food was prepared was absolutely shameful. They called our number, despite us being the only patrons in the store. When my husband approached the wretched staff member, Tracy, to retrieve our food, she made him repeat our entire order, in order for her to give him the food. (?) She did not do this to any other patron that arrived after us (We sat down to eat, and watched.) Roma did try to defend Tracy's actions, by saying they do it to all the customers, but alas, we are not blind or deaf.
After the third degree on our food order, we finally sat down to eat. My husband realised he was missing his chicken in predominantly chicken meal. My husband went back to the counter and then spoke to Tracy again.
Roma heard the conversation and came over, probably due to Tracy being a trainee. Tracy then accused my husband of it being his fault because "He didn't check the order before he took it" (?) and "He's a liar because it's in there." and even better, "He's lying about it" (? for 2 pieces of chicken?)
We went and sat back down after Roma informed us he would fix it, and try and calm Tracy down. Roma then came to our table, and pulled the receipt out from under our daughter's food, by leaning over her. Highly inappropriate of him. I've never worked in a Kingsley's but I'm positive there is a better way to approach a table than to stand over a 5 year old, and reach over her, and pull out a receipt under her food, without saying anything.
He informed us he was just checking the receipt and making sure the food was there (? It obviously wasn't, which is why we asked for the chicken.) We ate our meal, and watched as Tracy made no attempt at reconciling her errors, yet, not treating other customers like dirt on her shoes, as she did us.
Once finished the sub-par food we half received, I felt we were owed an apology, and spoke to another worker there who I didn't catch the name of. She was polite and courteous the entire evening and she was also a trainee.
I approached Roma and got the name of himself, and of the "worker". I asked Roma to apologise for intruding on our daughter's dinner, and making us both, as parents, feel uncomfortable with the interaction. He did, and it seemed sincere. I also requested Tracy apologise for calling my husband a liar several times, and mumbling under her breath after the altercation. He spoke to her, and she denied.
Roma claims he hadn't overheard the conversation between myself, my partner and Tracy, however, I feel he did and is trying to defend his employee. He requested Tracy apologise several times, all of which, she declined any wrong-doing.
Please, please, stop hiring people from the Centrelink line at Queanbeyan, and hire someone who is willing to work as part of a team. Due to Tracy under-minding Roma at every chance she got, and declining his requests as manager, I feel she is an awful addition to your team, and I suggest sticking to local kids who need money, not those who have been removed from the Pension.

Atmosphere: ** Small store with 4 small 2 person tables inside to enjoy. The store is very clean, well presented and the clear bay windows certainly make an appetising display of food you are about to enjoy. Well done!
Customer Service: * Service with a smile and Incredibly quick! Once I finished reading the large menu options (which all looked delicious) I was welcomed warmly by the service rep, order taken promptly and within about 2-3 minutes I had my order in my hand, ready to go! Exceptional!

Filthy place, stale food, stinky food, hair in food, rude customer service to people of colour, racial bias to people of color; need to treat and give the same amount of respect to everyone. Purposly giving bad food, ignoring , showing attitude, humiliating, belittling and giving bad service to people of colour. Doesn't even deserve a single star or a cent. Also, my friend (she is from a south Asian country) once went to a Kingley's job interview some years back, ofcourse she was rejected, she told me that the guy doing the interview (owner/manager with grey straight head full of hair) made some innapporiate comments like " at this age go and get married instead of applying for a job interview). The interview happened at a different Kingleys location but till date, he has been seen working at vaious other Kingleys locations including in Queanbyen. But the attitude of all of their staff especially at their Queanbean outlet (or wherever that straight thick haired man happens to be working at that particular time)towards people of color has been absloutely horrid. If he ilhappens ro be around the outlet, the staff seem to be extra nasty towards people of colour. Very very unprofessional and rude. Avoid this place. They can keep their rubbish (both food and attitude) ...
