Cafe society Castletown — Restaurant in Queensland

Returning resident, went with a friend who liked a particular item on the menu. I ordered the daily special "crumbed Wagyu"?. After ordering and seated i commented to friend that i wasn't asked how i wanted my steak- figured if it was really Wagyu, they wouldn't totally kill it. Besides, i was provided a standard knife, so figured it was going to be tender. When it arrived, and i tried the knife provided, it was impossible to cut. Went and exchanged for a steak knife, it was marginally better. Cut into small pieces, it was just possible to chew with considerable effort. Was it Wagyu???, had it been reheated??. My friend enjoyed his Shepherd's Pie, and he may return, i wouldn't risk...

Little wonder this cafe has such a huge following. The food ( great range) is superb from crepes to delicious apple tart pastries to die for. Great prices and most of all the number 1 ingredient, consistency and quality of food served, staff very friendly. We were compelled to congratulate the lady Chef this afternoon upon our 3rd visit. I eat at quite a few restaurants on my travels but very few stand out like Cafe Society. 10 out 10...

A large group of 7 with long list of food, the staff were enthusiastic and polite. The food was delivered quickly and on warm plates. Great effort. Coffee was lovely and ample serves of food. Very professional staff. Delivered like clockwork. Thank you. After a dismal experience at Coffee Club day before. Today at Cafe Society Castletown, we were very pleased.
