This is one of, if not the best Chinese restaurant in Townsville. I always go there whenever I am in Townsville. The seafood, especially the fish, prawns and scallops are always fresh. Dynasty is one of the few places I willingly order steamed fish as there is no hiding the quality and freshness of fish when steamed, instead of when it is fried. We started with seafood San Choy Bow and fried quails for entree. This was followed by coral trout steamed with ginger and shallots, a seafood hotpot (or claypot), pork ribs Chinese style, king prawns, duck with Chinese mushrooms plus the customary white rice. All the dishes were very good and tasty, though the highlight for me was the steamed fish, followed by the San Choy Bow. The king prawns were well cooked and the pork ribs went very well with the sauce it came in. There could have been a little more duck in the duck & Chinese mushrooms dish, though the mushrooms were very juicy and thick. There is a good selection of wines and cocktails, as well as a very nice selection of ports and other dessert wines. There is a free car park just a few doors down from the restaurant and there is normally parking available there. Overall a must visit in Townsville if you like Chinese...
Read more“mud crab carked it” went here sunday for dinner with five people, we ordered scallops in mud crab sauce, (9/10, beautiful flavours bsome might find the texture confusing ) singapore noodles ( 7/10, nice flavour but a dry ) dynasty fried rice ( 8/10 standard ) garlic prawns (10/10) sautéed mushroom in oyster sauce ( 8/10) spring rolls ( 7/10 standard ) wonton soup, ( 6/10 standard ). all food was good but a little expensive, for five people and the food plus two rounds of drinks each the bill was $365, we did split it though so it wasn’t a worry.
we had seen several complaints on the reviews about one of the male staff members with long black hair, we were served by him all night and we had no problem. he had a good sense of humour and was very funny but we can see how he might have been taken as rude. he would constantly refill glasses of alcohol without being asked, and would rush away before we finished speaking etc, when we asked about the mud crab he said, hold on let me check, walked into the gap behind us opened the lid and said “no sorry the crab carked it” causing us all some laughs. the restaurant was nice as well and the atmosphere was great, more of a date night place then somewhere to bring your...
Read moreWe came here on a Saturday night and most of the tables were full - I would recommend booking a table to avoid missing out, especially for large groups. The food here is on the expensive side, but the meals are cooked perfectly and very large so can be shared easily. Most of the tables have lazy susans so the meals can be passed around the table. We ordered 5 mains, each costing roughly $30 to $35 each (except for the fillet steak fried rice which was $24). We ordered the Thai Red Curry Duck, BBQ Pork with Plum Sauce, Lemon Chicken Supreme, Stir Fry Hokkien Noodles, and Fillet Steak Fried Rice. All of the dishes were really tasty, my favourites were the red curry duck and the bbq pork in plum sauce. The lemon chicken and stir fry noodles were also really good. All of the meats were melt-in-the-mouth tender, absolutely amazing - especially the duck, fillet steak, and pork. The drinks are a bit expensive, about $9 for a Great Northern Original stubbie. For the wine drinkers - would recommend ordering a bottle rather than by the glass as it should work out cheaper. The waiter was friendly and has a good sense of humour, and the restaurant has a dated but nice welcoming atmosphere. Would definitely recommend...
