Consistency is key. I've come here twice now and both times ordered the pork ribs (half rack - come on now, i'm only small). Once they were dry and tough. Once not. Weird. Second experience, the ribs were tender and succulent. Fall-off-the-bone. Minus a Lone Star for inconsistency but i've based the rest of the review off the better experience. Generous right? Staff were friendly and welcoming at the door, just like being back in Austin. Our allocated waitress was eager to take our orders. Seemingly a little impatient but maybe I'm just used to slow service. This waitress asked if she could start us with some wings or bread. Went the wings route, only to later discover many other entrees are available. Wings were messy, but this is to be expected. Major oversight not providing a plate or napkin for bones. On the topic of menu, would love to know how Atlantic salmon found its way to the 'steaks' section of the menu. Fish meat is practically a vegetable? Also, some items checked with chefs pick. I guess the others not recommended? A second waitress appeared and took our mains orders. Some good points here. Ribs come with choice of two sides. Turns out you can choose for both of those to be chips. Brilliant. Seasoning on said chips was breathtaking. Could be wrong but I think it was beef salt? Negatives. Heavy on the sauce for ribs (this is good) but also heavy on the Mayo on the coleslaw. Don't balance sauce with sauce. Never gonna work. I guess it's like winking at strangers in public - far too saucey. Don't do it. Ultimately my mistake though for ordering coleslaw. Good to know that takeaway leftovers totally doable, if you don't mind packaging it up yourself. Love good service. Weird turn in the service quality late in the piece; staff congregated in the corner on their cell phones instead of tending to the group that was queuing to pay. Call me old fashioned but I always considered the transfer of dollars to be a key part of the restaurant/customer interaction. Note: when it comes to paying, they'll ask if you want to tip. Don't panic, just say no. I see what you're going for but Texas this ain't partner.

Whilst off to quite a poor start being seated on a sticky table surrounded by fallen soggy French fries and grapes, the staff were able to move us to another location on request. The overall cleanliness of the venue is variable across the floor, with staff not paying attention to the floors and tables. Atmosphere was OK, nice lighting and music, staff were mediocre and not incredibly welcoming, though did their jobs to the minimum standard. Food was pleasing, steak was cooked to the correct request, fries were golden and crisp. The salad dressing however was quite off putting and bitter. The loaded brisket fries however were quite nice. In my opinion, as a venue that specialises in meat, it does a fair job in cooking good and entertaining food. However, may require some work in the training and attitude of staff to enhance the customer experience so people may return. Also, there were some specials (deals) labeled at the entrance of the restaurant, though weren’t available to be seen on the menus or the tables, so I had to walk back out to the front to glance at them again.

My friend and I each ordered the happy hour special of a $6 xxxx gold and a guac and chips. The server then only brought us 2 beers and 1 chips. I asked if another chips was on its way, as we both ordered the same deal. We were told that because we didn’t order one after the other, then we would only be receiving 1 guac and chips - if we had indeed ordered one after the other, we would’ve got 2 guac and chips. The food is great, I can’t complain about the food itself but some of the menu options/policies don’t make sense. I was under the impression that it was 1 beer and 1 chips per $6. The way I read the menu was that it was a 1:1 ratio, not 2 beers for every 1 chips. The server also came over 3 times in a space of roughly 10 minutes, so I didn’t feel we had enough time to view the menu in between visits from her.

Worst experience ever. Ordered at 11:30….1:30 and still no food. We waited over 2 hours for the food. During this time no staff came over to apologise for the wait or offer any kind of explanation. Other people were waiting just as long but people that ordered food after us were serviced before us? Made no sense. Other people got tired of waiting and left prior to meals being served.

After 2 hours of waiting, I went to the front to ask where our food would be. The staff went into the kitchen to find out and explained it would be “5 more minutes they were just plating it up.” We waited the 5 minutes and still no food.

We went to settle the bill for our drinks at the front and finally staff attempted to bring our food out. We declined and asked to just settle the drinks and leave. None of the drinks were given complimentary for the wait.

Another couple came in to restaurant just as we were leaving and they were told by staff it was over a 45 minute wait. We were not told about any wait times prior to being seated or making the order. Much longer than 45 minutes, 2 hours is ridiculous! Won’t ever be coming back, this is our second time dining and the last service wasn’t great either. I’m not sure if they’re just not hiring enough cooks? Either way, appalling service. Was shocked that during a 2 hour wait no one bothered to explain the situation...

My partner and I booked a table for Valentine's night and we were very disappointed. After 15 minutes the waitress took our order and got our drinks. Nobody came and checked on our table the whole night, if we wanted more drinks we had to find someone to order more. When our drinks arrived they never took our empty cups which left the table cramped and cluttered. We had 3 drinks each before we received our entree which took over an hour to arrive. It's took another 20 minutes for our mains to arrive and when they did, we were given the wrong order. I ordered a chicken burger (I can't eat red meat) and received a beef burger, my partner ordered a fried chicken burger and got a grilled chicken burger, the chips that came with the burger were dry and stale. When I told the staff about my order they went to remake my order, only to come out and tell me they no longer have any chicken left for the burgers. I didn't end up ordering anything else and we decided to leave. When I went to pay they did inform me my meal had been removed from the bill and they discounts our bills by 25%. Overall I won't be going back, the quality and service has dropped significantly within...
