Went in with four kids and myself, hoping for a nice meal. We ordered: • 2 x Vegetable Chow Mein • Chicken Fried Rice • Crispy Pork • Hot and Sour Soup • A few drinks
There were only two other tables occupied, yet our food took a very long time to arrive. To make things worse, the waitress brought out vegetable fried rice instead of chow mein and asked if we could just take it, as she’d placed the wrong order.
Trying to be understanding and not waste food, I agreed to swap my chicken fried rice for one of the veg fried rice dishes—since 3 of my kids are fussy eaters and only eat noodles. But the waitress looked terrified of the chef and said she didn’t want him to get angry. I offered to pay for one veg fried rice instead of the chicken, but she insisted on leaving the order as is.
We waited another 20 minutes for the rest of the food.
When it finally arrived: • Chicken fried rice had barely 3 pieces of chicken • Crispy pork was dried out and almost inedible • Chow mein had raw vegetables and was soaked in soy sauce • Hot and sour soup was honestly disgusting
The only thing we enjoyed? The canned drinks.
We paid $98 for this awful experience. Not sure what mood the chef was in, but taking it out on paying customers’ food is unacceptable.
Do yourself a favour and go to Yod Thai (Middle Ridge) or Smiling Thai (Harristown). This place is an absolute disaster....
Read moreGreat place to have a nice dinner and is in a quiet part of grandy. For starters I ordered the pork buns and they were great, sort of like the ones you get in the freezer but a lot better, then I moved onto the Mongolian lamb that came out on a hot plate and was a nice spectacle and also kept the food nice and warm. My partner ordered the honey chicken and the mixed starters platter, she was very happy with her choice and I obviously got a try as well. The chicken was just how I like it, soft with just enough crunch on the battering but still was able to have the honey sauce absorb into the coating. The starters were quite nice too but I do wish everything came with just a little more sauce. Lastly we had deep fried ice cream and I had no idea what to expect as I haven't had it before but I was definitely happy with my choice, the coating could be a little more crispy but it was still a nice taste and looked great.
Tldr: Definitely worth a try and has an overwhelming amount of options, would need multiple visits to try even half of the menu. Has room for improvement but overall was a pleasant...
Read moreTried this place last night as it's new and looked promising. The waitstaff seemed confused about what they were supposed to be doing and weren't very familiar with the menu or how to describe some of the menu items. There was a line up out the door, which was tended to systematically. The food was nothing special. If you're looking for a decent yum-cha, you most likely won't find it here. The chicken and prawn dumplings seemed to lack an essential ingredient... prawns. They were heavy and not at all appetising. The prawn spring rolls left little to the imagination, or perhaps little imagination was used to create these as they were excessively bland. Deep fried ice cream was well overpriced, as with much of the menu, given the quality. Maybe these are just teething issues, but I'd be hesitant to return. There's nothing special about the food here and the prices are over the top for the...
