Grill'd Townsville — Restaurant in South Townsville

By far the worst customer service I have ever received in my life. There are 2 staff responsible. Both the tall solid set employees, one male and one female. Neither seemed interested in the business aspect, nor capable of communicating professionally. It’s really unfortunate the atmosphere to dine in was so awful due to the unhappy, sassy, just want to finish already faces from the 2 staff. Walking in for a bite after travelling all day for work. Placed order to dine-in at 2102. Male server was extremely disinterested. Same server then spoke to female staff member, same female staff member then loudly said ‘we are shutting at 2130, I don’t care if people are still eating’. At 2109 the male server went to the front door and flipped the open sign to closed and appeared to lock the door. We were left feeling like we had to scoff our food. Such a shame to have thorns in your crew, good luck on managing these people. Seriously.

4 visits with 4 below expected service outcomes. 1, on a night with few customers, ordered food take away and walked outside to sit at their table, food is ready and placed on counter not brought out to me. 2, ordered in person and thought the order was over priced, while seated waiting for order continued to go online and place the same order to find it a few dollars cheaper, question staff and explain what I had just noticed. Staff unable to comprehend the situation. Walk in with 20 minutes till close to be told kitchen is closed, will not take order. Ordered food takeaway another none busy night, sat at one of the tables inside, only 5 metres from counter, order was not called. Order was placed on shelf and not until 30 minutes of waiting I question the staff about the order, to be taken off the shelf, handed to me without any type of apology.

I have to be honest, I did try to go to the competition business next door, but they happened to be closed at the time. Luckily for the staff of this business (Grill'd), I gave my patronage to them. I wasn't dissapointed, the food a Chicken Caesar Salad, was probably the best salad (Yes a salad, I know), who would guess? This salad with its roasted chicken pieces,poached egg, and little bacon bites, amongst the spinach, lettuce and I don't really know what else, was absolutely devine!! washed down with a cold Bundaberg Non Alcoholic Ginger Beer, a perfect dinner in my opinion. I thanked the young lady, with I think she had blue hair, and told her how impressed I was with the service and meal...
