Don’t waste your time or money on the bowls club restaurant especially if you have a big group. They simply can’t handle large bookings. Had a booking for 6pm, the group put in their orders and then the system crashed and we got called back to put the orders in again. We then got moved to another cash register to try there and again it crashed! We were then asked to go to another cash register where it finally went through….so we thought. A few random meals came out straight away and then nothing for a very long time. We had to constantly go up and ask what is happening with the rest of the order as we could see all the customers who were served after us were getting their meals. Eventually the Manager realised the receipt for all the meals not received yet was stuck behind another receipt so they now started cooking those meals. There was no urgency by the manager to get the meals out quickly and they were still serving up other customers. At no point did the manager come over and apologise that they stuffed up and check in on us. She couldn’t care less. At 8pm, 2 hrs after ordering they still had 2 meals they forgot to cook so more waiting. When the steaks finally arrived they were horrible and had the wrong sides. The manager wasn’t going to give any compensation for the complete stuff up initially and after a while agreed to give a partial refund and offered free desserts even though most of kids would already get free dessert with their meals. Our group had young kids and it’s not acceptable to make everyone wait so long. The attitude of the manager was disgusting, no understanding of good customer service when dealing with these situations. We all make mistakes but it’s how you deal with it that matters. Read moreThough I would give this club a go instead of going to my regular club of Kawana. What a disappointment. Meals were palatable at going prices but the service is abismal. Waited half an hour for baymarie meal and when I went to find out why the delay I was told they did not have my table number. Were they just going to forget about it without trying to find out who had ordered the meals and paid for them. If I had not gone to check I would still have been waiting. To make matters they were not a little remoursefull and blamed me for their stuffup. They coffee was brewed but made on water with a little milk on top. The pokies have a system of making it hard to retrive any unused credit if you decide to quit before the machine gobles up all of the money put in at the begining of your session. There is no explanation at the machines to explain how to take a payout or retrive unused credit. If it had not been for helpfull patron I would not have known how to do this. It requires having the payout printed by the machine on a card and then going to credit machine which used a convoluted set of instructions to retrive your credit. This is a devious way of making it hard to retrive unused credit so as encourage you to not bother and spend all the funds inserted. More ammunition for Nick Zennafon. Read moreHave had several Tuesday night meals at Waves so I guess you're bound to get a bad one but last Tuesday was a bit over the top. First they wouldn't allow our wives to place an order together but as two separate orders. Our friends got their order but ours was no-where to be seen. Other orders continued to come from the kitchen to those who were in the queue behind our wives. My wife approached the counter to be told that the chef needed more time to cook a medium to well done steak. 10 to 15 minutes past and still no meals and our friends had finished theirs. I approached the counter and was told the same thing to which I responded by saying words to the effect that it didn't take 20 minutes to cook. Another 5 minutes and our meals finally appeared some 5 to 7 minutes later. To add insult to injury my steak was riddle with sinew and gristle. Our gut feeling was the order was lost and rather than say so used the feeble excuse that it took longer to cook medium to well done like 50 minutes after order was placed.
