My partner said he has had a better welcome taking his car in for a service !

The blond lady that “didn’t “welcome us was “ not interested “ . We told them that we asked for a water front table which had been booked in 10 days before . She said “no” booked out or first served. However , the people behind us were offered a water front table as soon as they sat down( maybe relatives of Beyoncé !!!! . We booked 10 days ago with no communication about not getting a table of our choice !

Waited 20 minutes for a drink order . Italian waiter was lovely so was the first course . We also thought we were sitting in wrong area as the lady with dark hair and plat in the next section was running around , happy , smiling etc and her service was what you would expect - exceptional !!! The blond lady looked like we were interrupting her day and we would have had more conversation with a frying pan 🙄😂

One couple sent back their fish course , another couple around us said “ if it wasn’t for the view we would walk out “ . Fish arrived - over cooked ! Husband said cucumber was not pickled but …. Maybe the chef was 😂😂😂

Crikey what hope has the Sunshine Coast got when they can’t even get it right with the locals ! Worst experience ever - yes - they refunded drinks …… we weren’t interested in compensation ! We just wanted a nice experience and a nice meal !

Then we laughed . Paid / thought - let’s get a cocktail and sit out the front !!! Waited another 20 minutes - went to the bar and collected ourselves !!! Said to the guy “ we thought it was table service ? “ he said “ it is “ …. Partner said “ yes but today or tomorrow 🙄😂😫😂😫….. had to laugh - but do t think this is a five star or even two star experience

To top it off - went to the loo and the lady next to me passed toilet paper under the door as she said her niece had no toilet paper before me ! What a hat...

In the past, we have enjoyed dinners at the Boat Shed to celebrate significant milestones. - a place that we felt was special. 2018 has been one of our most fantastic years so this week we planned a celebratory dinner again at the Boat Shed. We booked early in the week and requested a great table to ensure it would be a special time for us. We were one of the first people to book a table for that night. When we arrived it was a little surprising to be seated at a table that was not right at the front where in summer time, the views are beautiful but it didn't matter as it's dark by 6pm these days. We ordered drinks and a main course each. Then 12 (mainly males) descended on the table next to us. We couldn't hear ourselves speak over their loud voices. We asked if it would be possible to move but despite many vacant tables, we we're told they couldn't move us elsewhere inside because they were heavily booked. We were offered a table outside with a heater which we declined. Our main courses arrived. I ordered barramundi from the Chef's Specials board. It looked good but in fact, was bland and tasteless - very disappointing considering the $36 cost. By this time the noise next to us was getting louder and it was almost impossible for us to converse so we left to have dessert and coffees elsewhere. Our experience wasn't improved when we were told that the large table of patrons next to us, had only booked that afternoon. In stark contrast we headed to the Wharf at Mooloolaba where we thoroughly enjoyed a delish dessert and our spiked coffees in a quiet ambience and the staff there made us feel special without us saying a word about our previous disappointment. There are many other options for us to choose to celebrate our milestones in future. We certainly won't risk the Boat Shed which seems to have dropped its previously...

My family with friends have been coming to the boatshed for 14 years . The food is wonderful and the view is lovely , the restaurant has a energetic atmosphere.

My husband and I went for a 2pm lunch, Our 1st Negatives: We were seated near the efpos checkout area, in the middle of the restaurant which was ok so we thought.

Then within our entree , we have over 8 people standing over us, it was so ridiculous and uncomfortable.

No social distancing, people talking over our table, unbelievable.

There are very nice waiters, and very attentive, as always, service is wonderful. But ……. You couldn’t but notice , one lady staff member (tall blonde) was moving around the restaurant at 100 kms a hour. We asked another waitress for a beer, and (the tall blonde waitress) delivered , she came with the beer and basically through it on the table , she didn’t look at us, just put it on the other side of our table and walked off, she is so rough in her manner. Needs to chill We feel she was in charge as she then proceeded to start packing up chairs and tables next to us. Bashing and taking tables apart and staking and clanging the chairs.

We came for a relaxing lunch , not to have staff ,extremely noisy and rough beside us, while trying to eat our meals. We understand it is a busy restaurant, I’m sure it can be managed with more care and consideration to your patrons.

After all your restaurant, is of a higher standard and also at the higher end priced restaurant, as...

Have eaten in both the restaurant and had the take away fish n chips. The restaurant is in a fantastic location and is consistently busy. Food is presented well and tastes great. Calamari and the prawn starters were amazing while the kingfish sashimi just didn’t work with way too much vinegar(?) that made it hard to enjoy. Mains were all top notch and our server, Jess, was a consummate professional and an asset to the restaurant. Unfortunately some of the other staff were no good. Due to an accident on the motorway, we were running 15 minutes late and called to advise. The young girl that answered told us the kitchen closed at 2pm (booking was for 1:30pm) but when we got there we were told the kitchen actually closes at 3pm. On paying the bill, there were 6 mains charged for a table of 5. We queried this and asked for it to be removed and were treated as though we were trying to scam them as opposed to one of their incompetent staff accidentally adding an extra main to our bill. Not big issues, but these should be dealt with professionally and with minimum fuss when charging these prices. Re the takeaway fish n chips, the special prawn baguette was delicious but was put together in a way that made it impossible to eat without getting sauce everywhere and having the filling fall out. Sauce first, then prawns and lettuce so we can close it. Had the fish n chips another time and that was quite average. Would return to the main restaurant and hope they have more staff like Jess.

As a local, it’s more often the beautiful setting of the Boatshed that keeps us coming back. However, our visit on Friday was a true foodie delight. Notable immediately was the updated menu, for entree we went straight to the Beef Tartare and Kingfish. Never have we had a better Tartare. The beef was seasoned to perfection, hint of mustard on top and the house made chips packed the salty punch. The Kingfish was also brilliant. Mains we jumped into the Mussels and the Barramundi with charred corn and asparagus. The corn puree and asparagus perfectly complimented the grilled barramundi but the star of the show were the Mussels. They were exceptional. In a citrus garlic butter sauce and by garlic I mean garlic - they were AMAZING! We enquired with the lovely waitress that looked after us about a kitchen change and she told us a new head chef had started end November. Hats off to the kitchen staff - you have raised the bar again finally and the service has definitely stepped up to match. Well done team. Highly recommend. We’ll see you again real soon!

Great location in Cotton Tree overlooking the Maroochy River. Very pleasant seating either inside or outdoors. I went for lunch on a Monday with a group of 8 and Hayley our waitress was superb. Handled our table and adjoining tables with excellent service. Our entrees, mains, desserts and wines were fantastic. The staff of any restaurant can make or break it. The staff at The Boat Shed were excellent and catered to our needs. The food was fantastic, calamari cooked perfectly, fished presented and cooked perfectly. One of our party enjoyed the lamb, again cooked perfectly. We enjoyed the lunch so much, we cancelled a booking at another restaurant and returned the next evening for dinner with another party. Cloe, the bar manager greeted us and provided wonderful service through the evening. I highly recommend the restaurant, equally for great food and wonderful, attentative wait staff. On my next trip from America I will return. 🇦🇺
