I can't believe the number of 4 & 5 star reviews for this esablishment. (must be friends of the proprietor) Cafe style food and service ( have to order at the bar) at 5 star restaurant prices. The portions were small and the quality was below average. Ordered fish and chips - the piece of fish was the size of a large sardine, all batter and no fish and laden with grease. The chips were greasy and seemed like the been sitting for ages before before the meal was served. My companion ordered the calamari which was by comparison reasonable but nothing to rave about. The waitress was very pleasant but the service was slow, not her fault and it was peak time on a busy day so no complaints there.I had only ever had a coffee and alcohol at this place before this visit and should have taken that as a sign of what to expect - the worst coffee I have had in Maroochydore/Mooloolaba area. It's dissapointing when venues like this seem to rely their prime location and nothing else to attract customers.

Hi Jonny

Thanks for your reply to my above review of your establishment. Started off well by apologising for not meeting my expectations but then proceeded to attack the reviewer. I'm not sure how you ascertain that I'm a one star serial reviewer when I've only posted 3 reviews in the last 3 years and no more than a total of 5 in the last ten years. I do concede that they have all been negative which made think that I should post a few positive reviews of the many good dining experiences I've had near your business including, Lillianas in Ocean St, Red Sea Restaurant in Dupont Ave and Elliots Bistro in Alexandra Headland. Nice to know that you don't want the custom of a "serial 1 star reviewer". You can be assured that I'll heed...

This place had so much potential! I dinned here not long after they first opened and the service was pretty average. Not receiving cutlery, kept ignoring us, refused to bring water to our table, that kind of thing. I put it down to them recently opening and them finding their feet. I was keen to come back and try again. I recently dinned here but nothing has changed and the service is still terrible. I picked a Burger from their menu and it clearly says the burger comes on a milk bun and with chips. We were hear on burger night special and I thought what a great deal. I ordered my burger but when it came out it had no chips. I asked the waitress And she argued with me. She was adamant that it didn’t come with chips (dispute it not mentioning any exclusions anywhere). In the end she said she would get me some chips. Instead the manager came over and refused to give me chips and she was adamant that it doesn’t matter even if it says it on the menu, it doesn’t come with chips for the burger special. The annoying thing is at no point was I told this when ordering. This could Have been easily fixed and they could’ve just sent chips out. But instead the manager decided to shame me, argue with me, was very rude and refused to get me chips. I can see that it was more important that she was tough and rude rather than make it right. Then our dirty plates sat in front of us for the next hour and 15 minutes until we left. The service at this place is very disappointing and I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone looking for a decent dining experience. Locals will soon learn and not bother returning. Like I said it had so...

Firstly - the food and services was really quite good, taste and quality was good, there was a part of 8 and the recommended was Satay chicken which most had and was great, I hade the Japanese curry.

When the order was placed they were asked to provide a disk without chilli in so when the food was served and we asked which one has no chilli, the server couldn’t tell us!!

We could see the kitchen and the chefs and reading the body language it was clear they hadn’t read the order and the response was ‘there is no extra chilli in any meal’!

Luckily this request was made for taste and a slight reaction to chilli from one of our group, who abandoned half of the meal as it was starting to affect her! More than a bit disappointed at the initial response but at least we knew from the outset there was chilli present, they just couldn’t be bothered to read the order!

The Japanese Curry was very nice, could have done with more curry, it appeared only to have about 2 x spoonfuls spread over the whole meal.

Other than that the meal and...

BEST FOOD AND SERVICE ON THE SUNSHINE COAST I know it’s a big call—but I’ve been dining at Cotton Tree Beach Bar for 18 months now, and it’s hands-down my favourite place to eat. My go-to? The Prawn Linguini with capers and a glass of Italian Pinot Grigio. Pure bliss. Oh and finishing with affogato with frangelico. Jonny and Katelyn have done an outstanding job creating and running this incredible café/bar/restaurant. Living on the Coast, I’ve tried my fair share of spots, but none come close to the consistent quality and welcoming vibe of this place. The food is always next-level, and the staff? Absolutely amazing—kind, friendly, and genuinely caring. There’s a real sense of community here. It feels like home. Just like the Cheers theme song says: “Where everybody knows your name, and they’re always glad you came.” Massive shoutout to Jessie, Leo, Kieren, Holly and the whole front-of-house team! And of course, to Head Chef Glen and his wife Jade, and Blue is the extra special Chef - thank you for the heart and soul you pour into every plate.
