We visited this restaurant last night. It was busy when we arrived, but we were seated after waiting a few minutes.
Shortly after sitting down, a young waitress approached to take our order—even though we had just picked up the menus. We asked to order drinks first and said we’d be ready to order food shortly.
When we did place our order, we asked for 2 pizzas as entrées, 3 pasta as mains, and a salad.
However, the food came out in a rushed and disorganised manner. The salad arrived quickly, followed almost immediately by the first pizza, and then the second pizza shortly after that. Before we even finished those, the mains were brought out—including pasta—which gave us the impression they were trying to rush us out.
It felt more like a fast-food experience than a restaurant. When you go out to eat with friends, you’re there to talk, catch up, and enjoy your time—not be hurried through your meal in 45 minutes.
After the meal, one of us ordered a coffee and we then asked for the bill.
There were three of us, and we wanted to split the payment using 2 credit cards and 1 cash payment. We were told this wasn’t allowed due to a “maximum 2 card policy,” which we didn’t really understand. We then offered to pay with 2 cash payments and 1 credit card, but somehow we were still being overcharged by $42.
We were given a confusing excuse about how the bill could “only be halved,” which made no sense.
To top it off, the manager blamed the young waitress and said she had just started. That felt really unfair and unprofessional. A good business takes responsibility, especially when it comes to customer service. Without customers, there is no business.
If you’re after an average meal in a rushed environment, this might be the place for you. But if you’re looking for a proper dining experience where the staff actually care, I’d recommend going to Bella Brutta in Newtown instead—they actually listen to...
Read moreFood was super tasty, but service and experience was so mixed.
We were greeted by a woman (not the owner). We arrived early near opening time and the place was empty. We asked for a table for 2 and she insisted all tables inside were taken so she put us outside. Overall she seemed disinterested in serving us. Oh well. We placed our order and waited.
Then another server started looking after us and he was overly nice, kept checking on us.
The strange part is, we were first served our salad, then in quick succession all our food was brought out to us together on our tiny table. So we had to quickly eat the squid, tripe, rigatoni and pizza super quickly while everything was hot. Why did they do that?
Don't get me wrong, everything was delicious. We of course had to try the famous Maritozzi's. The vanilla was OK, but the Pistachio one was delicious. Oh, and do not order the strawberry capriosca. It wasn't a capriosca, or good.
The owner did start to check in on us towards the end, especially with the Maritozzis, and she was lovely. But with the indifferent first server and all the food coming out at once, we felt like we were being rushed out. And when we left? One table inside and one table outside were taken only. We could have easily had a table inside. Many restaurants would give us that and just give us a time limit.
So good, but mixed experiences which does taint...
Read moreI was at 170 grammi for a lovely dinner with friends. The food was delicious and I didn’t make in time to take a photo of all the orders but I also have to say few things. It was a Monday night (no busy) and the service was quite slow, moreover due to the wind our table was dirty and we needed to ask for make it a little bit cleaner. We asked twice for the tap water and the food came out disorganised for instance at first the pizza then the pasta and finally the appetisers. The staff it was really nice nothing to say! At the end I ordered a limoncello shot and it was 1/3 of the glass for 10 dollars. Of course I don’t ask for a full glass but as an Italian it was a little bit sad to begin served with that tiny amount of spirit. Anyway we will definitely come back because it was a pleasant...
