The food unfortunately was quite a disappointment. I ordered the chicken cheese avocado, and it tasted awful. Melting the cheese ontop of the chicken and avocado and placing it on the toast, made the toast wet and soggy. Hot avocado (cramped between hot cheese and toast) is really gross. The chicken was so dry, I question if it was fresh. Seemed like it was boiled days before and then reheated in the microwave. On the menu it sounded nice, you would think that with so many ingredients: avocado, chicken, mushroom, cheese, sourdough, it would taste good! It was a combination of bland, soggy and dry. Even adding a bit of salt to the mushrooms would have been better. I suggest try not to put so many items on one thing that the flavours all cancel out. The only thing that was decent was the salad, it would be impossible to go wrong with salad because it is just vegetables. Perhaps you can add the avo and chicken (less dry and bland) and mushrooms (add a pinch of salt when you cook them) into the salad, sprinkle it with cheese, and have the sourdough crisp by itself. My mother also had a breakfast quinoa bowl, and it too wasn't tasty. Some kind of dressing would make it taste better, and salt on the kale. Anyway, service was average. Was ignored a few times when I asked to order and for a serviette, but I did not have high expectations to begin with. Coffee was a bit poor, ordered a mocha, tasted like foam water...
Read moreGot take away coffee from here. Staff and coffee were great.
However, I got triggered when placing my order, hence the number of stars given.
I gave the barista my Keep Cup and told him it is a small coffee. He takes a single use take away lid and wrote my order on it. LIKE...WHAT? What was the point of trying to be more sustainable and reducing trash footprint? I'm not sure what happened to the lid after... did it go in the bin after my coffee was made? Or was the writing scrubbed off and the lid placed back in the unused pile?
Here is a suggestion, take the old order receipts and write coffee orders on them when customers provide you with reusable cups. It's a common procedure used by many coffee places, maybe 18 Grams in Westfield should also adopt this? Majority of receipt paper used these days are not recyclable, which is also a single use item, how about giving it a second purpose?
I hope management will take my concern seriously and implement sustainable policies.
Reduce, reuse, recycle please. Thanks...
Read moreI have been a regular customer at your café for some time and have always appreciated the quality of both the coffee and service. However, I wanted to share some feedback regarding my experience today, which left me feeling quite disappointed and unwelcome.
I ordered my usual small long black with a dash of oat milk, but I noticed that the barista used cow milk instead. I politely mentioned the error, but the response I received was far from what I’ve come to expect at your establishment. Although I understand mistakes happen, the barista’s attitude in remaking my coffee made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. It was disheartening, especially given the positive experiences I’ve had in the past.
I have always valued the friendly atmosphere at your café, but today’s experience has left me feeling less inclined to return. I hope this feedback is taken into consideration, as customer service is a significant part of what has always made your café...
