Alberto's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Sydney

I generally don't post reviews unless I have an absolutely terrible experience. Without any exaggeration, this place had the worst food that I've ever had the misfortune of tasting. I've had some bad food in Sydney, but this takes the cake. I've never been this sick after having a meal before.

We ordered two pastas, one of them had meatballs in them which smelt old and rotten. The other pasta had broccoli in it, which was clearly frozen. The food overall tasted very old and lacked flavour.

We were served garlic bread, but that was clearly $2 frozen garlic bread from the local supermarket.

We left without finishing our food as the food and service was abysmal. The staff was not familiar with the menu, and when I asked them if the pasta smelt rotten, they replied with "it smells like a normal pasta".

Half star would be better. The most atrocious caesar salad: huge chunks of dried bread (no garlic oil pre-toasting) tossed through mixed leaf lettuce with wedges of tomato (!!!) in a watery mayonnaise with a few bits of bacon - that was it! Zero parmesan cheese, zero anchovies (even for sauce flavouring) and zero boiled eggs, zero proper caesar dressing! I've never in my life had caesar salad tossed up with hunks of tomato (not an ingredient) minus properly prepared garlic croutons and preferably served with boiled eggs, romaine/cos lettuce and sliced anchovies 🤮🤮sadly, Alberto's getting on and his inexperienced chefs/staff now run the cafe - and very badly at that. Avoid this place entirely before in undoubtedly is about to crash and burn.

The once great Alberto's pizza is no more. The pizza base now appears to be pre-made and ordered in, has the consistency of frozen pizza instead of the wonderful Italian/ Aussie style base it used to be.

To top it off I couldn't communicate across the phone with whoever is working tonight so walked in to make sure we could order what we wanted. After that muck around they still managed to give us the wrong pizzas, which we found out when we got back home.

One star only because that is the lowest rating possible.
