Best all around cafe in Darlinghurst! Wonderful coffee and wonderful people, especially Matt, the owner. Definitely a hub of Darlinghurst locals who come every day to sit or grab their takeaway for work. Lots of seats inside and out— Tasty, simple menu (mostly healthy too) with more extravagant options for brunch on the weekend if you want something special. Also, lots of dogs which is always a plus! If you need a haven in the area this is your spot.

As someone who can barely be in the same room as dairy it’s always nice to be taken seriously when asking about the food. Not only was I given the full rundown, I learnt some new things about the food ingredients. Coffee was equally as smooth and rich as I’m not. We will come back just for the service. 10/10 would dodge those lactose bullets again.

Very pleasant service, flavourful food, albeit rather small portions. Enjoyed the jerk chicken sambo. Plenty of outdoor seating; great for locals with doggos. Had a tepid, watery long black. Unsure if the barista was in a rush, or this is the preferred style (in which case, others clearly like it). There is room for improvement, in my opinion.

Revising my five star review based on a second visit. Our order for three people included two of the same dish but only one came. One of us was left without food the entire time the others of us finished our meal. We were told we wouldn't be charged for one round of coffees - the fairer course would have been not to charge for the meal that didn't arrive. I left and saw I was charged for the coffees. The meal was surprisingly and sadly bland. Disappointing experience and a shame.

Response equally disappointing. Just add salt and pepper because the food is otherwise bland is a great tip. 8 minute delay is just dishonest - it took about 15 after it was raised, which in turn was 10 minutes after it was supposed to arrive, by which point each other person had finished their meal.

Pro tip - leave the salt for your food not your...

I'm generally a tough critic. 4 stars means very good, 5 stars is almost perfect (there's always room for improvement) but you'll be hard stretched to find any improvements needed here. Beautiful, consistently good, food and coffee, good ambience, clean tables etc. But what really makes Bloodhound stand out is their service. Have been coming for my coffee and breakfast once or twice a week before work for a few weeks now, and standing waiting for my takeaway food, sipping my hot coffee, is always a wonderful experience as person after person comes for their routine coffee and is greeted by name, "hiya Bill, how are you? Strong Flat white?" The true definition of a local. If you live nearby and aren't coming here for your coffee everyday....what...

Nice place, food is fine, but man! Do something with that looooong waiting :/ Today I had to leave without breakfast, because the waiter didn’t even come. And also, I don’t get the idea of serving some guests with water and some not? Does everybody have to ask for that? This absolutely ruins the impression. #facepalm

To answer Matts question: I have visited the place twice. First day I was a “lucky dog”, because I got my ordered breakfast (but not the water as the other guests). I have waited pretty long also that day, but ok, the place was a bit busy. Anyway - I have waited ages for the flat white. The day after there were 6 people when I visited. And nobody came to my table at all. I am sorry to write this, trust me, but the service really...
