BOLLYWOOD BURGERS PENRITH — Restaurant in Sydney

TLDR: Amazing Food, Great Service, Unique Menu Done Well! Highly Recommend

Gotta admit we were skeptical... Bollywood Burgers? as in Indian fusion Burgers? In Penrith? Really?... We had to find out if they were for real! We visited for the first time on August 20th and honestly we were amazed at the variety, freshness and flavour. I had the Seekh Kebab Burger. Seekh Kebab as I understand is lamb mince and spices literally made into a kebab, cooked, then added to the burger. Not just a burger... An absolutely delicious combination of Indian style Seekh Kebab, lettuce, tomato, Spanish Onion, Tandoori Sauce and BB Special Sauce. It was Wonderful! my tastebuds jumped for joy and I was hooked! Zackie had a Paneer Burger (Paneer is a yummy firm white Cheese) but he woolfed it down so fast he doesn't remember what else was on it... He said it was absolutely perfect, tasted delicious , went well with his Maggi Masala Fries and would be perfect for Vegetarian friends. Long story short, Winning! We both enjoyed our visit so much we decided to return about a week later just to see how they were going... Our second 'Date Night' visit coincided with the $5 Samosa Burger Special (I believe they're normally $9) Samosa Burger is one of the most tasty things we've ever eaten! It's basically a Samosa smashed onto a Burger Bun with the usual burger fillings ie lettuce etc and a delicious Tamarind sauce to bring out all the delicate flavours. It's definitely a new favorite with the both of us! I tried the Seekh Kebab Wrap which again was total bliss. We rounded off our meal with Desi Icecreams! I had the Rose Icecream and Zack had the Pistachio... they are Sublime! Highly recommended, especially while relaxing with a Cardamom Tea. The Short Story... This place is unique in Penrith. Burgers, Fries etc with some Indian flavours. You gotta try their BB Sauce! Caters really well for Vegetarians and Groups, makes their food fresh and the staff are experienced and friendly. Definitely a new Foodie...

Overrated place. We ordered an aloo tikki burger, chicken tikka burger, masala fries, Fanta, and hot sauce.

Aloo Tikki Burger: Completely tasteless, oily, and overloaded with sauce that had no flavor. The patty was fried in smelly oil, and my wife ended up feeling sick after eating it.

Chicken Tikka Burger: While the chicken was cooked well, the sauce was bland, and the chicken patty was disappointingly thin.

Hot Sauce: More sour than spicy. It’s the same generic sauce used by kebab shops, nothing special.

Masala Fries: Just peri-peri salt sprinkled on fries, no real flavor.

Fanta: Tasted off, almost like it was expired.(5/2/2025) Turns out it was an imported version made in India, likely chosen for cost-cutting.

Service: When we arrived, there was no one to greet us. We waited 10 minutes for someone to come out of the kitchen. The staff member didn’t bother to welcome us or help us arrange a table. When we complained about the Fanta, their attitude was dismissive, as if it was our fault. No apologies were offered.

This place is seriously overrated, with questionable hygiene and a completely unwelcoming atmosphere. It feels like the owner has stopped overseeing operations after the initial success. I’d strongly recommend...

The taste, portion sizes, and presentation, especially Chicken Tikha Wrap, Butter Chicken Wrap, Desi Masala Fries, and Alloo Tikki Burger Mango Lassi were truly outstanding. It was a delightful culinary experience that we thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks for the exceptional service, I will look forward to returning to Bollwood Burger in the near future.
