Alcohol was great... Bar staff was great. The kitchen lady (dark haired) was absolutely horrible. Barely spoke. Offered no pleasantries and my presence seemed to bother her like I was burdoning her by existing. Read reviews before attending and noticed a lot of people saying she's horrible. I assumed just a bad day but no, she was worse than what I expected..

We ordered the cauliflower wings and received half cauliflower and half broccoli. The broccoli didn't taste great deep fried and was no where advertised as having broccoli on the menu. We took them back to request just cauliflower and the dark haired lady asked if we didn't like broccoli. We said we ordered cauliflower and would like to receive cauliflower and she stared at us, blank faced and slightly grunted. My partner had to promt her and said '' so what now ". The lady replied again asking if we don't like broccoli to which we again stated, we ordered cauliflower and would like cauliflower.

She then stated she wasn't the one to argue with about it which we replied saying we're not arguing, we'd like what we payed for.

Also of note was when she forgot our tomato sauce and we asked for it, she sighed heavily like that little bit of sauce she had to place in a tub completely ruined her day.

I understand people can have bad days but the consistency of negative reviews we now see (also reviews on happy cow) shows us the buisness just doesn't care enough to actually do something about it. I'm surprised at the age of some of these reviews that this lady still works here.

If I received any of these reviews I'd personally train her myself and monitor her customer service. If she failed to respond she would be out the door so fast. Negative word and mouth is detrimental for buisness and this staff member might the the rudest person I have ever met in my entire purchasing life. Really...

We went there as a family of 5 for their Fathers day event, were you had to book and pay in advance at $50 per head for a 2 hour sitting. There was 3 booking times for the day and opted for the first session which was 11am and had to be out by 1pm. We got there at 10.55am and waited in a line in the sun outside in the carpark (really dangerous as kids were getting annoyed waiting inline and wanted to run and cars were driving within 1m of us) we didn't get seated until 11.30 - there was more people behind us aswell - the last people that got seated for their 11am session was at 11.40am. Only one person at the door was an absolute joke... for an event that sold out and all people were told to come at 11am there really should have been more staff on at the door.. all I could hear around me was fathers and grandparents complaining about the heat and having to stand and wait for 30 minutes just to be seated.

After we were seated the bar line wasn't too bad and went pretty quickly etc... the food came on the platter in the middle of the table around 12.25pm everyone was starving by then having to wait another hour for the food with no entrees etc being available (my kids were complaining and so hungry). No direction of what to do - where to get the plates from or sauces etc i had to go on a hunt for them myself - the food that did come was good no complaints about the actual food atleast. We then had someone tell us we had to clear the table around 1.15pm as they were preparing for the next session.

Just considering that it was a booked out event and they knew exactly how many people were attending I really think they should have had more staff / helpers on to get people in the door quicker and more...

It was the first time visiting Rusty Penny. The layout, atmosphere and staff are very welcoming, relaxed and cool. It was a Sunday afternoon and the place was packed. Maybe more so because Penrith were playing in the NRL semi-final.

We ordered a BBQ board for 2, which consisted of Brisket, pulled pork, 4x chicken wings, 1x sausage link, plus corn, smashed chat potatoes, onion rings and cole slaw for sides, as well as a variety of sauces.

My hubby said the Brisket was the highlight. It was incredibly juicy and was perfectly smoked. He said the pulled pork was good but that he has had better. The chicken wings were smoked to a perfect crisp but could have used more flavour. The sausage link looked tasty. Sadly it had had melted cheese inside so my hubby couldn't eat. Our friend happily took it off his hands. 😂

The onion rings were tasty but think they came out of a store bought packet and werent made in-house. The slaw was a refreshing balance to the meat and carb heavy platter. The corn was lackluster but I think it's because we ordered it dairy free (without the butter or cheese). The smashed chat potatoes were good but I'm sure they would have been great with dairy.

I'm vegetarian so ordered the Mac and cheese balls and jalapeno poppers. The jalapeno poppers were overcooked - a bit burnt and too hard. Mac and cheese balls were nice but also too overcooked. I think I would have preferred the standard Mac and cheese dish more.

We also tried the tasting paddle of beers from their brewery. A bunch of amazing drinks. They were so good we bought a bunch for takeaway.

Will definitely be back and look forward to trying some more food and drinks here. Penrith is very lucky to...

Kind of unfair to have a pub that crafts its own beer and serve great food at the same time. Like hungry little carnivores we ordered a platter for two, that came with four tubs of sauces (two bbq sauces, a chipotle aioli sauce and a hot sauce that’s actually…hot? Which is a rarity nowadays). We loved the sausages, with different spices and with cheese inside. The brisket and the brisket beans were just as sinful, enough for you to go to confession twice in a day. Chicken was moist and we appreciated the smokiness and its charcoal taste. Instead of chips they used crisps, which goes well with their aioli. Ordered their IPA which was really crisp and refreshing that it pairs well with such heavy food. Since I like coffee I tried their stout; while not as malty and full-bodied as a Guinness, I appreciated their own take on it and enjoyed a full mug of it. I would’ve ordered more but my wallet was already complaining meaning it was time to head home. What was good was that, I didn’t get a headache drinking their crafted beer, which is a new thing for me because other beers from breweries I’ve been to didn’t have that effect, which means that Rusty Penny most probably pays attention to detail, on how they make their ales and brews. Overall, we’ll definitely come back. It was really rare for us to find a brewery that has great food served alongside great beer.

The food at Rusty Penny is truly in a league of its own. Having come off the back of late night shopping, and arriving just as the kitchen was closing at 8pm, we just snuck in the last order of the night by the skin of our teeth. We were grateful to the staff for letting us order, when they very well could have turned us back. This was our first sign that our visit was going to be worth it. We ordered two servings of pork, one serving of chicken thigh, serving of brisket, chips, Mac and cheese, brisket beans and corn cobs. Biting into that pork was, as I like to put it, what it must feel like to bite into a cloud. It was the star of the show, and it didn’t disappoint. Neither did the brisket, which just falls apart at the lightest touch. The chicken thigh was juicy and tender, with the crunchiest coating we’ve ever had. The sides were nice accompaniments to the meats, and we can’t wait to try all the others. The owner seems like an absolute legend, coming around to not just ask the pre-functionary “how’s your meal,” but have a chat, and it was really nice to hear his story. As someone who was introduced to BBQ through the likes of Wes Griffiths, it’s good to see others making a damn fine name for themselves.

Rusty Penny Brewing: Where the beer is cold and the food is hot (and sometimes spicy!) I recently had the pleasure of visiting Rusty Penny Brewing, and I was blown away by the food, service, and beer. The menu has a great variety of options, from classic pub fare to more creative dishes. I tried the mix platter, and it was some of the best meat i have ever had. The meat was juicy and flavorful, and was perfectly cooked. The service was also excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive, and they were always happy to answer any questions I had about the beer or food. And of course, the beer! Rusty Penny Brewing has a wide selection of beers on tap, from light and refreshing to dark and full-bodied. I tried a few different beers, and they were all delicious. I particularly enjoyed the Giddy Up Pacific Ale , which was perfect for a summers arvo and not over the top. Overall, we all had a wonderful experience at Rusty Penny Brewing. The food, service, and beer were all top-notch. I highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area.
