We are a large family who have been in the hospitality and security industry for generations in QLD & VIC. Myself, my wife and son have been in Sydney for the last few weeks and visited Bucketty’s many times. We were there last Saturday the 3rd, and I was impressed watching the friendly and hard working bar staff led by a very proficient and energetic manager Alex, on another night where their capacity appeared to be fully reached. Alex was everywhere, and led his staff by example. We also met the lovely Italian pocket rocket Bernadette, and the very young but multi talented, yet very capable Ed. We have been extremely impressed with the hospo experience & how the staff understand quality customer care.
I also want to acknowledge an area in hospitable that is usually filled with negative press. The Security.
The stars of the show last Saturday 3rd, was your exceptionally well trained three man security team. I met larger than life Bee & his big friendly smile on Mother’s Day with a man more larger than life Bucketty’s co-owner and charismatic musical extraordinaire Roger, who were doing a fine double act on the door with some brilliant PR promoting Bucketty’s genuine respect for Mother’s , as well as “women” a few weeks ago.
On a capacity Sat I observed Bee and his team of two very mature, capable guards; Chris and Barry work non stop in keeping the patrons and staff safe and secure with their effective manner of handling some very confronting issues professionally & quickly. It was military style precision, with added charm, that is almost a lost art. Chris and Barry’s communication front and back with Bee running the middle ground and addressing these potential issues from escalating was very meticulous, professional, fair and firm. You do not see these type of men everyday in security. 10/10 boys. I learned a few tricks that I’ll have to take back to me when I go home.
So thank you again Alex for giving us your undivided attention and time at the end of a very busy Saturday night. And the Bucketty’s team for providing us some great times over a few big weeks. Keep setting your standards high Roger and your team, as your efforts did not go unnoticed.

Read moreI was in the crowd that Saturday night office administrator reviewed. That security guard had the patience of a saint! The group of large men in the front crowd, particular the man in a white shirt with blue & pink chalk all over his face, pushed and shoved people around them, mostly who were females in my group. They led by the singer and were all warned several times to stop. They chose to ignore it.
My work colleague had a forearm in her face by the tallest guy, when he lifted a total stranger onto his shoulders. The lead singer of the band found this very funny, and made an inappropriate joke about it on his mic. That was the moment the security man went on stage to tell the singer (you could hear him clearly say on the mic) “my duty of care is for the safety of the patrons and staff here tonight, and I’ve asked you several times not to encourage this”. His words got a round of applause from us. The security man had a better & bigger stage presence!
It infuriated to me read Office Administrator untrue and belligerent review this morning. If you need any of this clarified, I have 5 hard working Drs & Nurses from Northern Beaches Hospital that will gladly confirm every word in my post, or please review your cameras from last week. We absolutely love Bucketty’s. It is the by far the best brewery in Brookvale.
So, my 5 stars goes to that assertive English security guard, the friendly going bar staff, the tiny and always sassy female manager Bernadette, the other managers Jools & David and all the glass collectors who continuously swept all the broken glass by the front stage left by the lads last Saturday night.
We were also here last night Friday. And what a turn around! A very young band called The Love Doctors absolutely brought the house down. OMG what a friendly, atmosphere they created! This is how it’s done and everyone bonded. Soo many happy faces! We hope to see them back! And we also hope to see Mr Bucketty back playing his Congo’s - we all...
Read moreI had a wonderful experience celebrating a friends birthday at bucketty’s. The venue provided great space for everyone to move around and mingle and relax, it was kid friendly and even pet friendly which is amazing as we could have family there of all ages including the pets. The drinks were great and the live band hired by the venue created a wonderful atmosphere for people to dance and sing along. There’s so much to do and a multitude of games for people to play, the hours just flew by. However I wanted to mention a special thank you for the incredible staff who really are the highlight of the venue and the biggest asset to the business! In particular Bee, Barney and Will, these men are fantastic at what they do and really set the standard far above other venues. These guys are poliet and respectful to all memebers, and are very welcoming and inviting to everyone, it’s great to see the staff be so warm to the patrons! They are very responsible in making sure everyone is following the rules and being safe, it makes such a difference knowing you can go enjoy a drink and the staff have your back and if you get separated from your group they will watch over you till you find your friends, they have great people skills and are really enjoyable to be around! Bernie the manager is also absolutely fantastic making sure all the moving parts of the venue are working cohesively and consistently serving with a smile. The staff never once seemed “tired or frustrated” they give you the feeling they love their job, they love the customers and they love being there which makes a huge difference when looking for a good time! Thank you to the staff, I will definitely be returning to buckettys again because of how wonderful the experience was...
