DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME THERE. I usually don’t write reviews, but this one deserves to go public for anyone searching. The place is always empty... Wonder why? The beers are mediocre, especially compared to other options just around the corner. The food LOOKS nice but was average and quite tasteless; I ordered a burger, and the chips were the best part of the dish! How sad... such a waste. There are much better options in the same area: Buckettys, Dad and Dave’s, Nomad, Seventh Day — venues as nice or better, with better beer, better food, and better service, all within walking distance. You're welcome!
If you want to know more reasons why not to go there, keep reading.
To be fair, I gave it more than one chance. The last visit was during a night event with live music, and it was the WORST DECISION EVER! The administration at the entrance was a shame. People walked in without paying but managed to get a wrist stamp because the one poorly prepared person checking tickets had no idea how to handle the constant groups of people coming in and out. Many were frustrated, trying to buy tickets at the door, only to leave angry and disappointed. Some of those who got in ended up leaving because they couldn't get tickets for their friends and family waiting outside, who could no longer buy online as they were sold out. Disappointed customers said they would not come back, and not without HEARING FROM THE STAFF, 'Yeah, you leave, no problem! Don’t need to come back!' (Why would you not want to come back here, right?) A Karen-style (rude) waitress also made her way to the entrance with a disgusting attitude, telling people in the queue that they needed to pay to get in (WOW!), when all they were trying to do was BUY a ticket. The "security" person also had no clue about how many people were there or could get in, which didn’t help the person in charge at the entrance. To the owners: I feel for your investment. This place is doomed. Maybe ask your neighbours for help; they are doing...

There exists, in the culinary realm, a dish so exalted that it transcends mere sustenance and becomes a tale worth telling—a tale of bravery, flavor, and unrelenting satisfaction. This, my friends, is the Chicken Parmigiana I encountered.
Imagine, if you will, the perfect chicken breast, —a canvas upon which a masterpiece is about to be painted. The chef, no doubt a wizard of the bbq, has expertly coated this fillet with the finest breadcrumbs, seasoned with an alchemist's touch. As it enters the fryer, the breading transforms into a golden armor, encasing the succulent, tender chicken in a crispy embrace that whispers of promises yet to come.
But it is not just the chicken that commands our attention; no, it is the symphony that plays atop it. A layer of tomato sauce so rich, so deep in flavor, you might swear it was harvested from a garden tended by the gods themselves. The tomatoes, ripe and sweet, dance with a hint of garlic and a subtle note of basil, bringing forth the taste of summer in every bite.
And then, the cheese. Oh, the cheese! Mozzarella, perfectly melted, stretches like a silk thread over the tomato, shimmering as it marries with the chicken beneath. But the true magic lies in the blend of Parmesan that crowns this creation. It is aged just right, sharp enough to cut through the richness, yet creamy enough to meld into the greater whole, elevating the dish to heights I had never before imagined.
The sides were not mere afterthoughts but loyal companions on this epic journey. The salad—fresh, crisp, and with the perfect amount of dressing. Chips, golden, crisp and full of flavour. Gravy, bold yet subtle.
When the plate was finally cleared, I felt a profound sense of completion, as though I had not just eaten but had experienced something truly extraordinary. This Chicken Parmigiana is not merely food; it...

what a slogan! @freshwater_brewing newly opened taproom is a light-filled space that celebrates the beaches laidback community and lifestyle which certainly reflects in their no frills food 🏖 think fresh ingredients, seasonal and locally sourced, with a bit of Aussie nostalgia in the quiet industrial streets in📍 Brookvale.
we started off with bbq Coffin Bay prawn skewers, fresh and juicy, and served with a small side salad 🦐 we also got the pizza fritta, a soft doughy base topped with confit tomatoes and parmesan. simple and probably a bit large and in charge, but taste-wise it was great 🍅🧀
for sangas, we grabbed 2 iconic choices 🥪 sustainably sourced fish fingers, hand coated in-house with a signature crumb, along with dill pickle tartare, fresh tomato, crunchy cos lettuce in a thick cut pipe loaf. the other, Coffin Bay prawns battered and lightly fried with house made mustard aioli, fresh rocket, and a squeeze of lime in a thick cut pipe loaf. both were standouts honestly, the soft bread 🍞, the loaded fillings, everything so fresh and perfectly balanced. love love love!! 💛
