I was looking for Sweet potato noodles stir fry on last Sunday night and I found this Korean restaurant, Ceci Strathfield. I walked in to have a look at the menu in the event that the one posted outside had changed. I informed my friend about the menu and I walked in again but the staff informed me that they do not offer takeaway without giving an explanation. I told him that I am unable to dine in. He immediately refused me and his expressions were harsh. I walked out and searched online to confirm that the restaurant does not do any takeaway. On the website it showed that they do dine in, takeaway and delivery. When entering the restaurant again the owner said “He ordered his staff to tell me that they don’t do takeaway when he saw me walk in the second time“. I was surprised and I politely asked him for a valid reason because I can see that online shows that they do takeaway. He answered sorry we don’t have that menu anymore. I pointed on their menu and asked him you don’t have this menu anymore (Sweet potato noodles stir fry with beef and veggies $18). He said oh we have this menu but we don’t do takeaway. In the meantime, the rude male staff tried to interrupt my conversation and was speaking in his language. I told him I don’t want to talk to him because the way he talked to me very rude. I just want to talk with the owner of this restaurant. The owner said they don’t have enough staff tonight to do takeaway and the restaurant is quite slow. Not many customers and not enough staffs so don’t do takeaway but if I eat in they are welcome to make food for me. I asked when I walked in the second time that’s when you don’t do takeaway for me. He said no it’s not like that. He said basically they don’t do takeaway. It depends on the situation to decide can do takeaway or not. If the restaurant is quite they won’t do takeaway. In the end he asked me if i still want to order takeaway. I said no thank you I just want to know the reason before I write the review online why you don’t do takeaway. Is it just only me or with every customers? He said he doesn’t care at all about the reviews. Whatever I write online it has no effect on his restaurant. I just want to let others know how rude this business is and how bad the customer service that is offered. Please...

Gave the benefit of doubt and visited despite the countless bad reviews. All I can say is trust the reviews, this restaurant is honestly the worst korean restaurant I’ve ever visited. Although prices are on the cheaper side, do yourself a favour and spend a dollar or two more at other better korean restaurants along the road!

Portion of food is extremely small As previous reviews had mentioned, portion was very small with only a few slices of meat, full of chives. Staffs attitude were outrageous The 2 korean man were so rude and sarcastic. I asked if the beef & tofu soup was beef bone or just beef slices, as there were 2 different dishes, 1 named beef bone and another just beef & tofu. He said both of these dishes were beef bones, and said “it literally says beef bone, read the menu”. I assume it was written in chinese/ korean as beef bone because in english, it was written as just beef (and tofu) for the dish he was pointing. So I ordered beef and tofu ($18). Turns out, the dish was just beef slices, no bone! The other dish was pork and tofu ($18).

While they were serving the food, they said “beef”. Since their pronunciation was pretty bad, it sounded like “beep” and we were unsure what he was trying to say. He then said we don’t even know what we ordered? He dropped the beef soup and left. When we asked for refills for the side dishes, the other korean man said “no”.

Poor hygiene and management Lots of houseflies and staff was sneezing and coughing, then touching the food with fingers in the side dishes. The korean man was also shouting at the other staffs to clear the tables.

Overall a very bad experience. The staffs should be more knowledgeable with the food they serve instead of misleading the customers. The food was too salty and we were still very hungry after the meal. The vibe was so bad, we felt uncomfortable and unwelcome during our...

A big stain on Strathfield, almost like they're trying to be the worst Korean restaurant in Sydney.

Food Their 'original' signature fried chicken is disgusting, didn't even get through half. It's overcooked, dry to the bone and looks like it was fried in oil older than Joe Biden. The BBQ meat is also a scam. Worst cuts of meat that don't even look like what we or we ordered. We even overheard the table next to us complaining.

Service Staff is super dismissive, one of them is young and I can forgive her strictly based on age and most likely inexperienced, another lady forced us to cook our bbq meat and just pushed the remaining meat to cook. It wasn't even busy and we were eating quickly (sat for less than 20 minutes). I guess the free side dishes are okay, but honestly some of them are inedible as seen in the photos. We also didn't receive the same side dishes as others despite clearly ordering a good amount!

Atmosphere Super smoky, the vent isn't even centred over our plate which is constantly burning cause they just give you a little spread of butter and their extremely old plates just stick immediately. Tables and floors are sticky. Our cutlery was still wet when provided to us. Scissors to cut meat is also blunt which adds to the frustration. Naturally humans don't like being told what to do so when it's not busy, why not let guest pick their own table? Being forced to sit at the door entrance where everyone stares at the menu is uncomfortable, and it would be nice to have the table cleaned before having us sit there.

Hate to ramble but would love to see many...

There are better alternatives available at Strathfield, would not reccommend. There was nothing notable upon entry, we were quickly seated, brought menus and the waitress took our order in a timely manner. When the food came, we were initatially surprised at the seemingly large portion size of the ‘rice cake & sweet potato noodles’ we ordered, however upon trying it, the only thing I could think of was how bland it was. The chicken we ordered fared no better, it was still visibly raw at the centre as shown in the photo. When we told the staff, they took it away and brought it back out, obviously microwaved as the serving dish was hot to touch. Generally we were not too pleased with the food and lost our appetites, evident by how much food we had left when we were ready to leave. When we going to eat any where, I expect food neither to be raw nor microwaved. In terms of customer service, an integral aspect of any dining experience, was subpar in terms of my personal expectations even for a casual dining experience. The waitresses serving us made minimal effort to make us feel welcome. When we asked for refills on side dishes, the waitress serving us acknowledged our request but never came back. The only semblance of anything related to customer service came from man, who I assume to be the manager or the boss. He got us an extra bowl in a timely manner upon request, and advising us in a friendly manner to eat the noodles when they were warm. TLDR: The food is subpar for Strathfield, the chicken was raw/microwaved and the service leaves a lot to be desired.
