I walked past this place and thought it looked good because it was fairly busy and full of Indians and importantly no true blue Aussies (if it was full of true blue Aussies the chefs probably would have poured in sugar and made the food super mild as you find in most suburban Australian Indian restaurants). My predictions were accurate and the food was wonderful. Unfortunately the restaurant is let down by not providing free tap water even if you already buy an initial drink, no metal cutlery (just plastic spoons) and a lack of transparency over prices (ie none of the drinks have prices (think it's $4 for a mango lassi), it's unclear whether a garlic naan costs more than a non garlic naan in the $12 thali and the owner will not provide an itemised receipt). I'd still return but I hope the owner fixes these three problems.

I recently visited Deal Dhaba and ordered Chana Bhatura and Aloo Puri. While the ambiance truly captures the essence of a pure Indian desi-style dhaba, making you feel like you’re in India rather than Sydney, the food quality was a bit of a letdown. The chana and aloo were undercooked, which was disappointing, as these are staple dishes. On the positive side, the staff was humble and welcoming, and I appreciated the Navratri vibe with Goddess Durga’s aarti playing in the background. It created a spiritual and festive atmosphere. If they improve the food quality, especially the cooking of basic dishes, this place could be a fantastic go-to spot for authentic Indian flavors. 3/5 stars!

Tucked away in a quiet corner of Harris Park is a small Indian restaurant Shri Desi Dhabha that delivers big on flavor and authenticity. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with the rich, aromatic scents of spices that promise a memorable culinary experience. The ambiance is basic and great for a quick meal. The menu offers a well-curated selection of Indian classics. After travelling to Delhi last year I missed some genuine the food. Shri Desi Dhabha reminded of my experience of India. Staff were friendly and helpful especially for a non Indian.

I wish I could give less 1 rating. There is this old guy who has no manner or professionalism to talk. As a new first time customer I was asking about the curries. Coz some of them looked same. Every time I ask which curry is this, he will simply grab it to serve in the plate and I had to stop him. The menu said main thali with Nan but does not say which Nan. So I asked him to have Garlic Nan. He increased the price of thali so then I said don't increase the price and just give me whatever Nan you normally serve. To my surprise he just got mad on me and said I'm keep changing my decisions and I am there to have a free meal.. what nonsense? Then the entire staff and customers were looking at me like I am causing unnecessary issues. I have never felt such humiliation in my life. And also let me tell you the servings are small and curries have very bland taste.. I would recommend to stay away from their food...

Doesn't deserve even one star the cashier is very busy in talking with others Doesn't care about customer is waiting in que to make order. I asked for chicken chap the lady said they don't have then I said give me chicken tikka then. After waiting long time she provided me soya chap and end up saying I have told her to provide me soya chap which I didn't. I have no idea about soya chap I donot know why she provided me that and I tried to have but could not very oilly and later I ordered chicken tikka again cause I wanted to have chicken not soya they provided me chicken but it's very cold they didn't even bothered to microwave it. At the end I could not have any of those and end up packaging it and take it back home 😭😭🥵🥵last time I had from here it was pretty good but this time very oily and lots of masala and food coulour in the chicken.
