I stopped by on 10 Feb, around 6:30pm to order a pizza for takeout and was turned away because I didn't have my phone on me to scan COVID QR code. I didn't have my phone on me and they didn't provide any device for me to sign-in. Not even a paper and pencil to record the necessary details, how silly is that? They didn't even ask what I wanted, the owner stood behind the bar while I stood outside asking if I could enter the establishment without scanning because I didn't have my phone on me, I had to yell my request 3 times because the owner refused to come closer but couldn't hear what I was saying despite the volume of my voice. Turning away business in this economy because you do not have a pencil and paper to record details?? I'm highly disappointed especially since this is a new establishment and I live right around the corner. I also noticed that my original review was removed and I just want the owner to know that you cannot...
Read moreI have been to this Italian Restaurant many times for pre (Belvoir) theatre dinning. It is conveniently located between Central Station and the Theatre. I keep coming back because of the quality of the food and friendliness of the service.
There is well rounded menu wth a selection of Antipasti, Pasta and Pizza. There is usually a special or two. The pizzas and calzone are freshly made and delicious. I cannot go past the antipasti especially the bruschetta which is one of the best I have ever had. I would recommend sharing a selection of the antipasti as a tasting plate meal. They have a simplified selection of Italian wines by the glass and local and Italian beer. The last main I had was a spinach and ricotta ravioli special with cream and pesto sauce topped with walnuts. Perfetto!
The decor is pleasant with Italian flair and a restrained sophistication. I would...
Read moreI've just been to Don Giovanni's for a sunday lunch. I believe that a real review on an Italian restaurant should be done first and foremost by an Italian (they are not my friend) so that it can guide those who are not towards an authentic cuisine, many sell Italian few know how to do it. Absolutely recommended, from appetizers to exceptional desserts and also an applause to the wine selection that is essential in an Italian restaurant. The pizza has the cooking it deserves and the flavors are original and intense as it should be. The environment is super clean and conveys absolute serenity as well as the ready, professional and never intrusive staff... forget the "mangia mangia" you know and eat without anyone having to remind you because the food here is delicious! It reflects the standard of new generation Italian restaurants. Well done...
