🌟 A Vegetarian's Dream Come True at Downtown Momo

As vegetarians, my husband and I have scoured Sydney for the perfect momo, only to be met with disappointment—until we discovered Downtown Momo. This gem in Parramatta has redefined our momo expectations.

The momos here are a revelation. Each bite bursts with authentic flavors, and the best part? They're crafted without any artificial additives like ajinomoto. This was a pleasant surprise, especially since I could confidently share them with our 14-month-old son. To our amazement, he devoured two and a half momos!

We sampled chilly, steamed and fried varieties, and all were outstanding. The fried momos had a delightful crispiness, while the steamed ones were soft and juicy and chilly was on top. Accompanying them was a chutney that was simply explosive in flavor—spicy, tangy, and utterly addictive.

The atmosphere at Downtown Momo is equally commendable. The space is clean, inviting, and the staff are friendly and attentive. It's clear they take pride in their offerings and customer experience.

From now on, Downtown Momo will be our go-to spot for authentic, vegetarian-friendly momos. Highly, highly recommended to anyone craving genuine Nepalese...

As someone who has never been to Nepal (but would like to), I'll have to take the words of my family who has been.

Downtown MoMo is really good, as my first time eating Nepalese food. My surprise is that it has Chinese influence (chowmein, for example) thrown in.

Downtown MoMo has variety of dishes on offer, most are dumplings and options are vegetables, chicken or buff (stands for buffalo).

Surprisingly, buffalo is lean without being tough. It was quite tender when cooked. We ordered different momo and dishes to try, they were all tasty: steamed momo, momo platter (fried was the best for me), samosas, aalu chop and mustang aalu were really good, and chhoela sets.

Prices and portions were reasonable, some portions were large too.

Just keep in mind, their spicy level, mild can still be very hot for some. I eat very spicy so I didn't notice.

My brother says it's exactly like when he was in Kathmandu, so he was in his happy place. He's happy he found Downtown MoMo, so close to his place, too.

Service is really lovely and friendly, as well. Newly opened (January 2025), so I wish them all the best and every success for their...

The momos here are hands down the best I've ever had! I was so completely indulged in the food that I honestly forgot to take any pictures — that's how good they were.

What really stood out to me was not just the flavour, but the whole experience — the warm hospitality, the attention to detail, and the freshness of everything served.

I’ve tried fried momos at many places before and usually end up disappointed, but here, it’s a completely different story. They’re light, crispy, and guilt-free. You can literally taste the quality — the oil they use is fresh and clean, and it shows in both the look and flavour of the food.

Highly recommend this place if you’re a momo lover (or even if you’re not — you will be...

Authentic Nepalese restaurant. Delicious and affordable food. Found this hidden gem in Parra CBD when out for a lunch hunt. They have a wide variety of Nepalese dishes. Reasonable prices and large portion size - great value. Tried their choila set, momo, bara and aloo. All very delicious and flavourful. Good level of spiciness. Remember to ask for mild or no spicy if you can't eat spicy. Great customer service. Staff very friendly and attentive. Really nice atmosphere. Great for solo and groups. You can have large meals or grab a quick bite here. Menue has many options for all occasions, lunch, light meal or dinner. High recommended. Can't wait to visit again to try other dishes.

Me and my partner had dinner here last weekend and we absolutely loved it. It was my first time trying Nepalese food and I am pleasently surprised. Its like a wonderful mix of Indian and Chinese food. We had the Momo platter and a noodle dish and both were great, the Momo's especially were good, essentially the same as Chinese dumplings but with a different mor earthy spice pallette. Loved them, will absolutely go back. Downtown Momo was also really great value for money and the service was great.
