We had a family dinner last night at this establishment. The restaurant ambiance was cozy; pleasant and comfortable. We ordered the 3 course meal set menu for 4 people consisting of an entree garlic bread, duck sausage roll, prawn roll & beef tacos. Mains were snapper, steak, lamp chops & wagyu rump, dessert were caramelised cheesecake & chocolate s’more. We’re rating the food 8. While the rest of the food were okay, the snapper was a little bit bland too much on mozzarella wrappers, and I couldn’t hardly taste the fish. I did enjoy the potatoes & greens though. My son’s GF steak was a bit dry & didn’t look appetising on the plate, but she enjoyed the side salad. The servers looked tired & grumpy & they seemed always in a hurry to take our orders, drop the cutleries or water on our table. Also, didn’t see anyone of the ladies smiling. Until a younger looking man delivered some of our orders with a big smile on his face looking so happy to feed us. We were elated & felt like we were seated on a business class. He made us feel important. After thanking him we found out that Noor was the new Manager of this restaurant. While he provided us with a great service including making us a special cocktail on the night, we hope he can share his enthusiasm, attentiveness & positive customer service to his staff. Thanks Noor for your amazing customer service & friendly smile. Overall we rated this place 8/10 and 4 stars. Our party of 4 spent over $400 including drinks. Yes, we’re happy to recommend this place, but it’s quite pricey.

We've been here so many times since it's opened, the service is amazing every time. Special shoutout to floor manager Raymond who always looks after us, the staff is also always friendly and attentive! - Photos shown in the review are from all the different times we've been here. - Food is always between good to very good, the price for the quality and quantity of food is decent and the quality of food is the most consistent (in our experience) than all the other steakhouses in Parra (we've tried RUSE, 500degrees, volcanoes, meat and wine co ). - we've literally tried the entire menu excepts the drinks as my partner and I don't drink - Our favourite is the T-bone although the tomahawk is pretty good too! - highly recommend signing up to the rewards program (Dining Rewards Club, also works with 6Head steakhouse), it's free and the cashback/credits you accumulate is good, just remember to show them the barcode when you're paying - atmosphere is nice, you can choose to sit inside or outside - they also do takeaway orders - there's limited street parking, or you can park in the Meriton but it's only free for an hour, about 10min walk from Parra station/Westfield

My partner and I have been here twice now - once for their set menu and another for their a la carte. While both times have been enjoyable, the food was inconsistent. I have loved the brussel sprouts during both visits, but I can't say the same for the pork belly skewer, slow cooked asado rib and duck fat potatoes. Pork belly skewer - during my first visit, the pork belly was cooked perfectly with a nice sweet glaze. It had a nice char on it where some pieces had crispy skin. However, during my second visit, the pork belly was cooked but there was no char and crispiness. Slow cooked asado rib - soft, tender and fall apart during my first visit which made me reorder during my second. However, it was quite chewy! Duck fat potatoes - decided to give it a second go, but it was a disappointment just like the first. The potato skin sounded crispy, but it was very tough and hard to eat. Would definitely order the chips instead (the chips are amazing!!).

(Edited- I recently had the opportunity to dine in at Hunter and barrel again. The reservation was easy to make, and the staff was extremely helpful in accommodating seating due to weather conditions outside. Staff were very attentive and the food came out fast but it didn’t feel rushed. The ambiance was great, and the food definitely lived up to my expectations. We tried the house recommendations, and if you visit the restaurant, you should too. It is really positive to see a restaurant listen to customers reviews and identify the contrive feedback and fixed their mistakes)

I recently attended Hunter and Barrel for dinner with 8 friends to celebrate my engagement. We were hoping for a great night out and the table spent over $1000!!! but unfortunately our night was ruined by a very unfriendly and rude waitress. On the night we tried to speak to the manager but he was unavailable at the time… We decided to contact the manager direct the next day before writing a review to inform him of our terrible experience and particular details of the night. He said he was very disappointed to hear about our experience and would phone us with a solution within 24 hours. Instead of a phone call I received a cut and paste email with a pathetic blanket apology with no attempt to making good. When you go to a restaurant and pay good money you expect great food and customer service, but unfortunately we experienced extremely poor, rude and disrespectful...

I ate here tonight and was honestly left completely disappointed. After being rudely told 30 mins into our reservation that we had to leave by a particular time, despite there being 9 available tables, and whilst we hadn’t been given a chance to order yet, then being back chatted by the same staff member, THEN being corrected by her after she told us we were late after arriving right on our 6.30 booking time, we were left baffled. When the food arrived 45 mins after ordering, our $165 steak was cooked incorrectly. It was popped back onto the grill and returned to us. The highlight was honestly the garden salad, other than that i would not rate for the food, atmosphere or the service. The rude waitress was the absolute most disappointing part of the night, I expect above and beyond service at a restaurant like this, and can understand when food goes wrong however can’t understand entitled attitude from staff when only politeness was given to them, especially after 1k was spent. I’ll be going to Ruse instead.

Edit*: Thank you for your reply. You have said you have made attempts with our group to rectify the situation. What is the rectification? No mention of a solution has been made, it would be best this isn’t insinuated. Please kindly inform us so we can mend...
