WOW! That's the only way to start a conversation about this fabulous restaurant. I saw an ad on Facebook so I thought I'd pop in and try some of the menu. Situated by the river, this restaurant is in a lovely spot and has a great ambience. The decor is warm and inviting, with lots of interesting details. Elie and his staff were so welcoming, they sat me in a great spot and catered to my every request. I noticed on the menu that there was a section devoted to truffles; which are in season. I am a fool for truffles so I tried the potato and truffle croquettes and the radicchio and rocket salad. As it was lunch time I just had a chai latte for drinks. The chai was a delicious, spice laden concoction with a hint of pepper. Just gorgeous on a winter afternoon. My lunch order arrived quickly, and let me tell you those croquettes were EXCELLENT. There are 4 in a serving so quite generous, they were dressed in a delicious sauce and a very generous grating of fresh truffle. For $16 for the serve I found it to be great value and just enough for me. The radicchio and rocket salad was equally delicious. The leaves were fresh and washed well, dressed with a good serve of parmesan and a tasty dressing. The portion was generous also. The head waiter then convinced me, amidst much protest ;-) to try the tiramisu which is made on premises. This was also fabulous, light and not too sweet, creamy and very moreish. Every staff member knew their stuff and displayed excellent food knowledge. I can't wait to get back here and try the rest of the menu. Very, very...
Read moreMy wife and I chose this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary, hoping for a memorable and enjoyable meal, unfortunately, it ended up being memorable for all the wrong reasons.
The biggest disappointment wasn’t even the overpriced meals (which, to be fair, had decent flavour), but the sneaky way we were charged $10 for water. We had asked for water, expecting the standard free tap water that nearly every restaurant in Australia provides. At no point were we told we’d be charged for bottled or premium water — no clarification, no menu note, no verbal check. Just an unexpected charge on the bill at the end of our meal.
This one simple, deceptive tactic completely soured the entire evening. When we questioned the charge, the staff were dismissive and offered no solution or apology. It felt like a trap — the kind of hidden cost you’d expect from a tourist trap overseas, not a place we chose for a special occasion.
To be blunt, we left feeling cheated. It’s not about the $10 itself — it’s about the principle. When you dine out, you expect transparency, fairness, and basic courtesy. This experience had none of that.
We won’t be returning, and we’ll be warning friends and family to steer clear. There are far better places in the area that offer quality food without the sneaky fine print or disappointing surprises. A real shame, because we had high hopes. But if you value honesty and hospitality, you’re better off celebrating...
Read moreI recently visited this restaurant and decided to try out a few things from their menu. I ordered Gnocchi Napoli, Tiramisu, and a Coke. While I couldn't resist diving right into the Tiramisu and Coke before snapping any pictures, I managed to capture the Gnocchi Napoli.
Starting with the Gnocchi Napoli, the portion size was quite moderate—neither too big nor too small. The gnocchi itself was nicely done; the texture was soft yet had a bit of a bite, and the Napoli sauce was flavorful, balancing tangy and savory notes quite well. Overall, it tasted good, though I was expecting a slightly more generous portion given the price.
Now, let's talk about the Tiramisu. As a big fan of Tiramisu, I was looking forward to it the most. While it tasted authentic with rich layers of coffee-soaked sponge and creamy mascarpone, the portion size was a bit disappointing. For a dessert as loved and universally cherished as Tiramisu, I was expecting a more substantial piece. That said, the quality was there; I just wish there was more of it to savor.
As for the Coke, well, it's hard to go wrong there!
Overall, the meal was quite enjoyable, but the portion sizes could be improved, especially for the price. The Tiramisu was a highlight in terms of flavor but fell short in quantity, leaving me wanting more. If you’re around and in the mood for some well-made Italian dishes, this place is worth a visit—just manage your expectations around...
