I visited Beans and Barrel for lunch with high hopes, but unfortunately, it was a letdown from start to finish. The cafe was incredibly noisy, with loud juicers, clattering plates, and blaring music, making it difficult to enjoy the meal. We opted for an indoor seat, but it quickly became unbearable.
We ordered the chicken wrap combo, which came to around $25. After a long wait, we received our order, but the portion sizes were shocking. The wrap was tiny, and the chips were comparable to the small size you’d get from McDonald's, barely a handful. We raised our concern with the waiter, who assured us she’d get us more chips but then disappeared. After another extended wait, a different waitress came to collect our plates. I reminded her about the promised extra chips, and she simply told me that this is the portion size for a combo which is a small serving, with no explanation or effort to resolve the issue.
When I mentioned that the meal was overpriced for the portion size, she walked away without saying a word. As a local who’s been here before for coffee (which was inconsistent in taste), I had hoped for a better experience this time. Sadly, I won’t be returning or recommending this place to anyone. The staff was rude, the meal was overpriced for what you get, and the noise level made it impossible to enjoy the experience. Very poor service and quality of...
Read moreWe are a table of 6 holidaying from Brisbane! The food was 5 star, very quick to come out. , we waited 45 minutes for our coffees, yes 45 minutes, we asked twice and no staff member had a clue. I assume it was the manager at 30 minutes and then at 45 minutes we asked what was going on, he was extremely rude, asked what we ordered, eventually he offered us a refund, we happily excepted because we just wanted to get out and have a coffee! Yes it was an extra busy morning, all the swifties coming in for breakfast, but the food came out within 10 minutes. We watched the staff at the coffee machine, re heat milk jug after milk jug, take coffees out to customers who ordered well after us. Convinced our dockets were lost, obviously you didn’t need the $40.00 that you did refund to us!! Our $40.00 was well spent and appreciated at the cafe across the road with coffee and service 5star. EDIT REPLY TO OWNER** no we won’t be coming back in, we got our refund, so we are satisfied. My recommendation to you is, train your staff to cope in busy circumstances, make coffees as they are ordered. Teach your manager (he seemed to be) some manners, or he will send you broke, in trying times, giving a $40 refund is not a small dollar amount, on weekend trade, it would be equivalent to an hourly rate if your paying penalty rates, I’d assume you are, as your charging a 10%...
Read moreVisited on 26/04, between 9-10 am Coffee and croissant I ordered was good. But we didn’t like the service at all. The 2 girls at counter (seemingly teenagers) didn’t bother to greet when I went to the counter. Note the cafe wasn’t too crowded too. I had to wait almost 5-8 mins just to order despite no queuing at counter They just assumed we are taking away the order, didn’t even bother to ask if it’s dine in. Though we were sitting on a table right in front of them for 10-15 mins, when I asked about my coffee, one of the servant girls conveniently said she “forgot our order”. When I reminded that my order wasn’t take away and I was sitting for dine in, there was no signs of apology, instead she just ignored and still handed over the coffee with croissant in take away can/ bag I saw another Indian family arriving just when we were about to leave, they were treated the same. No greeting, no smiles on face. And this was not the case for other people. We felt offended and discriminated.
We didn’t mean to insult these young girls in front of other customers, hence didn’t say it to them directly
I won’t recommend going here and I won’t...
