I was previously a member of this club, but I have noticed a decline in service quality especially their booking system. Alternatively, it's possible that the staff requires additional training of some sort. I booked a table for a pre-Christmas lunch for a group of eight, specifically requesting the outdoor area for a 12 noon lunch. Notably, I had made this booking a week in advance. The day before, I called to request an adjustment to 1:30 pm, (as hubby got caught up at work) to which was agreed upon by Emma. However, upon arrival, we found that our table had been placed indoors as an afterthought. We were left standing outside woth my children, feeling like intruders amidst staring patrons. It's embarrassing that a simple request cannot be accommodated, especially considering this is not the first time or second this has occurred to our group. I spoke with the bistro manager, who was apologetic and offered two complimentary cakes as compensation. I politely declined but suggested that additional training might be beneficial for his staff. To my astonishment, I was presented with a dish i can only describe as a 'SEAFOOD' or 'CRAB SALAD' with dill in a 'ROLL,' purportedly a lobster mornay. Throughout my 47 years, I have never encountered such an unconventional presentation. Notably, it was an additional $75 to add on to the already $149 price of The Platter For Two, which I ordered for my husband and I. I was expecting a traditional 'LOBSTER' served in a 'lobster tail,' as has been my experience in the past. However, I must express that, as someone not adept in culinary arts, this interpretation of lobster mornay is perplexing, especially considering the premium paid for what essentially constitutes a crab salad in a roll. Having previously spent over $1,000 for a 4.5kg live lobster cooked in XO sauce on a significantly large bed of noodles at an intimate family lunch at another establishment, I acknowledge my appreciation for superior seafood and willingness to pay accordingly. However, this particular offering is, in my opinion, outrageously misrepresented. The description should read 'CRAB SALAD IN A ROLL' (certainly NOT for $75 though) and it should not be 'mislabelled' as 'lobster' in order to command a high price. I would appreciate a reply and justification for this ludicrous offering...

This seems to be confirmed by the fact that we were there on a beautiful Saturday afternoon and there were many tables available when in the past, you couldn't move due to how many people were there.
The food prices have gone up and the quality of the food has gone down. :(
We keep going back hoping that we are just always unlucky but I can say that the last 5 times we have been we have been so disappointed. The mussels are tasteless now. They used to be garlic spicy mussles with crusty toasted bread and now it's an insipid white sauce served with two thin pieces of cold hard bread that tastes like they come out of a packet.
The crab pasta, that used to be our go to is now dry and with what feels like made with tinned crab due to the smell of it. And don't go anywhere near the beef thai salad - roast beef slices (like deli style roast beef!) on lettuce with bottled sweet chilli sauce.
The staff are always so friendly though and the location is so good but we are now so torn because we love it there but we just don't want to spend any more money on the food - except for the hot chips and the duck spring rolls that are definitely good!
I really hope they look at the kitchen moving forward and what's coming out of it because I do believe they will be losing a lot...
Read moreUpon entering all seems beautiful and the view on the deck is inviting.
However when it comes to the food side of things it's certainly a disappointment.
We decided to order the seafood plate to share @$54 over a glass of wine each.
No seafood was fresh, the prawns were very rubbery, so obviously were defrosted from frozen and not even tossed in a little garlic butter to add taste. The pieces of fish were not fresh either and again no flavour, I'd say thrown in the oven to cook and came out dry...and the scallops in the half shell were tasteless, not a hint of juices in the shell.. actually all the food was flavourless ~ No flavour offered at all. The octopus tho tender had no flavour, was not char grilled, almost as to it had been heated in boiling water.
The girls behind the counter are expressionless and blunt in responses.
A couple ordering at 3:01pm (kitchen closes at 3pm) and had been waiting at the order counter were treated with the server turning around to the kitchen YELLING they were here before 3 o'clock ... obviously the cooks had voiced a disapproval.
It's too bad that one pays in advance.. My partner doesn't like me sending food back but in this case I should have and reordered another dish.
Of course I don't expect a response from the club as they only respond to 5 star reviews as you will see. They obviously don't respond nor action improvement...
