Gozleme Turkish House, Drumnoyne (inside @birkenheadpoint food court) Rukiye has one of the biggest smiles and the sweetest laughs of anyone I've met while exploring food. She's just full of love and every one of her long-time customers that pop in to say hi know it. A few years ago, my friend Valerie told me this was her very favorite gozleme. Shop. Frina make the visit to see why! Rukiye runs Gozleme Turkish House, inside Birkenhead Point outlet shopping centre, and her little food court stall seriously contends for the best gozleme in Sydney. Over 25 years ago, her mother ran a food tent on Birkenhead's top floor selling her Turkish gozleme. She rolled the dough from scratch, added all of the ingredients on a fold-out table, and cooked the gozleme on a BBQ grill. Rukiye was by her side, watching on and eagerly learning her mother's skills. This was long before the food court opened, but when it did, they were the very first to be invited to own a shop. The community loved them! Nowadays, Mum is semi-retired but Rukiye still makes gozleme. She works 7 days a week but tells me she loves every second. "This is my life, and I'm very happy". Her son runs the kebab shop next door too, so their little corner of the food court is a family affair. I ask Rukiye what her favorite gozleme is and she laughs, saying it's the Nutella. But the chicken and mushroom and the beef are the two most ordered, so we go with those today! Both gozleme begin with a layer of spinach and cheese, before she spoons spiced, cooked meat over from two giant pots she had prepared earlier. There's a certain aura to the way she gently spins and flips the gozleme. She cooks them just right while hardly even looking! They say it takes 10000 hours to master a skill. I wonder how many hours she's already accumulated? The gozleme is fantastic by the way. Lemon juice is a must. They have a thin, crispy, and chewy outer dough, which stays intact as you pull up and take each cheesy bite. The chicken's my favorite of the two! : $15-20pp

The shop and people that made me love the Gozleme!!!. Mouth watering, freshly made gozleme that one should not miss!!! If the old lady rolling the dough doesn't remind you of your granny and her technique, it's only a matter of time. Wait until your taste buds process the food. The lady (and owner??) taking the order is full of love & warmth that makes your day. During the pre-covid times, I've been a regular to their Greenwood Plaza North Sydney shop. I missed them dearly when all business opened. Couldn't find them all these years and today I stumbled on these lovely people again at the Birkenhead Outlet. My joy was ineffable and the food truly justified the feelings.

Inside Birken Head Point's small food court, Gozleme Turkish house, just like its name, serves traditional Turkish flatbread. Surrounded by interior decorations of Turkey, you can witness the entire cooking process. The fresh dough was hand-rolled into flat pastry, before getting brushed with butter and egg. Then fillings were added, from sweet to savoury, Nutella, chicken, beef, or cheese, The ladies who were there resembles our mothers and grandmothers, who would spoil us with a delicious treat in the kitchen.  The gozleme obviously was yummy and comforting.

I cannot emphasise how great this place is. We used to come here all the time when we lived close by, but we’re still determined to come here when we get a chance.

The lady at the front is ALWAYS, without a doubt, such a sweet human. My partner and I went back there today after not being there for months and she remembered us instantly with a warm, “welcome back guys!” And proceeded to ask us if we are well and complimented us as we picked up our order. She alone put us in a great mood for the day, let alone the great food that makes the long drive worth it.

The staff are also very friendly, and also very dedicated to making delicious food; we have never had a bad meal here and always love to stop by.

Cannot recommend this place enough. Our friend recommended it to us for these exact reasons and how right she was.

Thank you for being such a nice little shop to come to. We hope this shop prospers.

Oh also, side note — we think the owner’s son owns the kebab shop next door, he is just as lovely and also remembered us too!

Kindness must run in the family, this shop/family deserves all the...

I don’t often write reviews, but this one is well deserved.

Birkenhead Point Food Court Gozleme is like no other!!! It is hands down the best gozleme I’ve ever had! Every time I visit Birkenhead shopping centre, I always make sure to stop here because the food is absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made every single time.

Besides making the amazing gozleme what really makes this place unforgettable though, is the lovely lady who serves the customers, Rukiye.

Rukiye is always so kind, warm and welcoming, with a bright smile that will instantly make anyone’s day better. Everytime I have gone here, she has never once been without the biggest smile on her face. Rukiye is by far the nicest and happiest worker I have ever seen, and her positive energy is contagious! No matter how busy it gets, she still remains so polite, professional, welcoming, and genuinely happy to be there.

If you’re looking for delicious, fresh gozleme made with exceptional customer service and care—and served with a smile—this is the place to go....
