Sydney Seaplanes is not just a place for a plane ride over the harbour, it also has a bar and restaurant and you can visit the empire lounge simply for a meal and enjoy the beautiful harbour scenery. Outdoor seating on the verandah or inside near the bar, come here for a relaxing setting. Although the outdoor temperature was a bit cold on the day we visited, they have outdoor heating and blankets to keep us warm. They have a top cocktail list and we began with one each. The flavours of these were lovely and refreshing and the presentation also fit the setting. Brunch always has to have a Bellini and this one was a nice mix of Champagne with white peach and vine peach liquor. The skyline swizzle was a mix of rum, açai berries, raspberries, fresh lime and bitters. Gin, pineapple, lime and bitters made up the Honolulu cocktail and it was awesome. Food wise, we left it in the hands of the waiter to order us an array of foods, beginning with some beautiful oysters and a vinaigrette. The menu is predominantly seafood, a natural choice given the proximity to the sea. From the sea menu, we tried the Balmain bug risotto, which was cooked just as risotto should be, and with the addition of nice small chunks of Balmain bug. Beautifully presented with edible flowers, Creme fraiche and edamame, this was a popular dish amongst our group. We also tried the yellow fin tuna tartare with avocado, black sesame and ponzu, accompanied by some rice waters. The kale and avocado salad with quinoa, chickpeas, seeds, pine nuts and mint was so refreshing and nice and light to go with the meal. We also had the swordfish steak special with sugar snap peas and a romasco sauce, a seafood lasagne and a side of bread and butter. It’s a perfect location, lovely food and efficient service.

Food across all dishes we had was outstanding. Some of the best oysters anywhere! Sole meuniere was cooked to perfection and the Paris mash was luscious and rich. Arrancinics for entré w truffle shavings were delicate and very tasty. Kingfish sashimi w more truffles was a delight, texture and taste was better than any I've had before. The octopus was grilled to perfection and so tender. The sauce with it lifted it to even greater heights. The cocktails were also tasty. Wine list is not extensive but the 3 wines we had were all nice. I could go on and on. When adding in great service and a view to die for it was a very memorable meal for the 4 of us. Oh I forgot about the cheesecake! It was perfection. So light yet rich. Perfect texture and despite being very full we couldn't stop eating it! Very happy customers here and much respect to Faheem and his team!

I've been dining here over the years, and it has always been amazing. However... I took my mother here last weekend, and it would seem to be under new ownership or management, as the quality of not only food, but service, had fallen away. We had various dishes, the fish and chips were inedible and they served frozen packet arancini balls sold from Woolworths. I sent it back and it was taken off the bill, thankfully. I also had to go and order my own drinks as table service was slow to non-existent. I wouldn't recommend visiting until new management addresses the lack of quality from the kitchen, and training for staff. One bright side was the Tuna Tostadas, which I snapped. The location is great but the rest of it needs improvement. Such a shame as this was a great spot before.

Had lunch here today sitting in the sunshine, overlooking the harbour and watching the seaplanes land and takeoff..... Just wow! Started off with a few Aperol Spritz, why not on a day like today, then the food started to roll ..... Oysters were fresh and delicious, tuna tosada's are my new favourite food, and a raw tuna dish.... OMG. of course we ordered more.... even though we probably could have settled.... the steak was so tender and cooked to perfection and the seafood pasta was just stunning. We paired entrees and mains with a bottle of Louis Roederer Champagne. I couldn't resist. Staff were all lovely and super helpful when navigating the menu. The view speaks for itself. The food was so good we will be back soon!

It is unbelievable to set a table at this windy spot. The strong wind “companied” with us during the whole afternoon. Also the staffs were unfriendly and rude. We have asked so many times to change the table but they don’t let us to do it. They kept saying the tables were fully booked and leave us in this horrible situation. The wind kept blowing our tableware, water glass and food. The food became cold quickly and it was terrible. The most horrible thing was that the water glass was BLOWED on the ground and BROKEN. There were people behind us! That was so dangerous. It was the most horrible experience in my life and really don’t recommend people go there anymore.

I recently dined at this restaurant with a friend visiting from overseas, and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The food was excellent, with attentive and friendly service throughout. Priced at $35 per main course, the portions were generous and satisfying. I opted for the fish curry, while my friend enjoyed the pasta, both of which were presented beautifully and tasted delicious. I highly recommend dining here not only for the fantastic food but also for the stunning view overlooking Lyne Park and Sydney Harbour. You might even catch sight of a seaplane taking off or landing while you dine, adding to the overall charm of the experience. .
